We are almost into June now, and players have distinguished themselves from what looked to be just hot starts to the development of a career season. I am going name my selections for the early season Awards.

AL MVP

Alex Rodriguez .331 AVG, 17 HR, 49 RBI

 

 

 

 

 

NL MVP

Derek Lee .357 AVG, 16 HR, 45 RBI

 

 

 

 

 

AL CY Young

Jon Garland (8-1) 2.57 ERA 31 K's

 

 

 

 

 

NL CY Young

Dontrelle Willis (8-2) 1.67 ERA 57 K's

 

 

 

 

 

AL Closer

B.J Ryan 14 Saves, 1.38 ERA 40 K's

 

 

 

 

 

NL Closer

Jason Isringhauen 14 Saves, 0.55 ERA, 14 Attempts

 

 

 

 

 

Rookie of the Year

Clint Barmes .335 AVG, 7 HR, 27 RBI

 

 

 

 

 

Obviously these positions change monthly, for example from my April Awards I believe only Derek Lee remains, but most importantly the reason I add the most valuable closer is because of the importance of that position. When you have a guy in your bull pen that can go day in and out keeping your lead it is so important and people often undermine the position.

  i disagree with your choice for the NL CY Young. I think Chad Cordero deserves the award
