Be On the Lookout!

So, you want some quick money? Go to Wal-Mart, buy some packs of baseball cards, hold a prayer with candles and the whole bit, open the packs and then pray for Alex Gordon. That's right, a baseball card picturing Alex Gordon is the one of the rarest on the market as of now. The 2nd overall pick in the draft by the Kansas City Royals is pictured on an incredibly valuable baseball card. In fact, a guy from the Kansas City area sold five of these cards for a total of $5,761.79. Now, just because he had 5 cards doesn't mean they are easy to find. It just so happens that the earlier packs of Topps recent editions may contain the card. After finding 2 cards, the same man went back and bought more, a lot more. He bought 1,000 packs in which he found 5 of the cards.

Alex Gordon(...look but don't touch!)

Topps was only to print the cards in which players were part of the 25-man roster and signed before a specific date which Gordon did not. So, the card is not worth so much just because Gordon could be the next best player for the Royals but because the card should have never been. So, if you come across one of these gems guard it with your life (or give it to me).

By the way, Gordon is batting .326 with 6 home runs in his first year as a major leaguer.

Cool article, Zach! Not only informative but well written. I was totally unaware of that card's value. But then, I'm not a collector. Be sure to pass this info along to Saber Head as I think he does collect cards.
    Thanks & Keep Rockin' . . . .
