Subject: A Seller Expresses Their Displeasure At eBay's Changes

Ebay's recent crapola PR release that they have "understand" is pure BS! Just another hypocritical line of crap hoping sellers are indeed as stupid as Ebay seems to think we are.
If Eby is TRULY concerned with the opinions of sellers, they Ebay should stop ignoring the issues and treating sellers like second class citizens. Ebay should just cut the crap with all the wordy (and meaningless) press releases.
The fees have increased. Period. Don't treat sellers as morons who are unable to recognize that a nickel saved on the front end and a dollar+ in extra fees added to the back end amounts to a fee increase. There is no fee reduction.
The new feedback plan is abysmal. Period. It is a 100% biased ill-conceived plan that is a recipe for extortion. If Ebay fails to realize this, they are truly more "out of touch" than I first realized. What moronic meeting came up with the idea that ALL buyers will receive a mandatory positive rating...no matter what they do? Absolute insanity. What possible reason would any seller have to bother leaving any buyer feedback at all? It is now pointless.
I stopped listing and shopping on Ebay after they made they made the new anti-seller policy announcements. No amount of "we hear you" drivel will change the facts that the new policies are a SLAP IN THE FACE to all sellers.
Ebay is losing a lot of good sellers...including myself(a member since 1999 with 100% positive feedback and 4.9 stars across the board). If my business is not appreciated on Ebay then it will remain on my new selling site on eCrater. There are alternatives. Ebay seems to think they are still the only game in town.
Not anymore. They have chosen a bad time to alienate customers with an arrogant company position and a condescending attitude.
The sellers are NOT stupid. Ebay should not treat us as such. The other selling sites are gaining market share...as they should when a major player screws up and mistreats its customer base. There's a reason so many groups are posting negative comments about the current Ebay. There's a reason sellers are leaving Ebay.
The problem is that Ebay refuses to accept the fact that the company's management team SCREWED up. The stockholders will be they ones to pay the ultimate price. I sold my stock in Ebay when the current trend began to gain momentum. The dis-content within the site was not handled well.
Ebay also ignores many issues that cost the company money...assuming good sellers will just pay the difference. Fee avoidance? Ebay dropped the ball on that one and has never bothered to seriously address it. (Hint: get a simple software program to identify the habitual areas of abuse....a first year computer programmer could handle that one. Ebay? No progress in a decade).
Fraud? File a computer generated form with Ebay and get a computer generated canned response....in other words...totally ineffective.
I was a loyal Ebay member who promoted the site to others. Now, I would not recommend the site to anyone thinking about selling items.
So, as for their lame efforts to bring sellers back ...forget it. The current Ebay climate is anti-seller and an environment that will be impossible to avoid extortion.
Oh yea, Ebay's customer service response to feedback extortion issue? Well, if a buyer develops an established pattern(no specifics on that one), then Ebay might look into it. Of course, that does NOTHING to help the numerous sellers who were viction to such an extortionist. What is a "pattern"? Ebay plays it free and loose with that phrase...which means there's no real protection to sellers from such buyers(who would be able to run such extortion tactics with Ebay protecting their own feedback...as "wonderful buyers".
Ebay, GET A CLUE. Sellers are not going to come running back for more abuse.
