DAILY DEVOTIONAL- wisdom from the psalms

Psalm 107: 14
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Mabel made sure that children in her neighborhood got a better start than she had. Each day she would invite children into her home, and she would help them with their reading. She would labor long and hard with some, but she was determined that they would never have to face a life lived in darkness and ignorance. Illiteracy was a terrible kind of slavery that no one should suffer under. Mabel's special ministry of love helped children in her area break free from the bonds of ignorance and led them into a bright and exciting light.

God has given us minds to use and wonderful technologies. There is no excuse for living in fear and darkness in our world today. He has liberated us from ignorance and has granted us knowledge and wisdom beyond measure. Take hold of the great gift of the mind, and thank God daily for it.

Prayer:

Shed Your light upon my heart and mind, fath er, that I might know all that I can about You, Your creation, and Your will. Be the source of my understanding and my liberation. Amen.

Waiting on God

Psalm 33:20-22

Because our God is an all-knowing, wise, and loving heavenly Father, we'll always benefit when we follow His schedule. However, waiting on Him can feel difficult.

Throughout the Bible, we read of people who experienced delays before God acted on what He had promised. In the following examples, notice how patience and obedience led to blessing:

  1. Noah was told to build an ark because a flood was coming. When the rain did not arrive, his neighbors must have thought him a fool. Yet Noah trusted God and continued to work (Gen. 6:12-22).
  2. After reluctantly agreeing to approach Pharaoh about releasing the Jewish slaves, Moses learned it would take a number of warnings before God's plan would be fulfilled (Ex. 7:1-7).
  3. Jesus' disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until they received the promised Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4).

When I was a young boy, I learned the importance of patience. After having me plant some seeds in her garden, my mother explained what would happen. First, green sprouts would appear, and then the plants would develop. I kept a close watch on that area, but nothing seemed to be happening. One day I decided to dig up those seeds to see if there was any progress. I found no plants at all. My impatience did not produce any fruit.

The Lord has a plan for each of us, and the timing of every detail is always right. Are you living according to His schedule?

Dr.David Jeremiah says that God loves us fearlessly and pusues us with abandon

GROWING IN CHRIST

dear heavenly Father
All honor and praise to you
Thank you for the priveledge of coming to you in prayer
Please help me to grow closer to you
Please help me to grow in my Christian walk
As I learn your ways and read your words
I seek inspiration
I want to be obedient and pleasing to you
May my every action and thought be grounded in your word and in your will
may my life be a testament to your goodness
in the name of the saviour Jesus Christ, I pray Amen
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
May the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus
That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ {Romans chapter 15 verses 4-6}
Psalm 107:2, 3
Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name , and to triumph in thy praise.
I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?
(Jeremiah 32:27).

God inhabits the praise of his people

 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.
Saying , there was in a city, a judge, which feared not  God, neither regarded man
And there was a widow in the city : and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary
And he would not for a while, but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith,
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on this earth?  { Luke chapter 18 verses 1-8}
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an unexpected end
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart {Jeremiah 29 verses 11-13}
Dear Heavenly Father
You teach us by your WORD,
That we need only come to you in prayer
expecting your promises to us concerning our welfare to be fulfilled
We know that our enemy satan seeks to steal ,kill and destroy
You have equiped us to defeat his evil purposes for our life
We take back what he has stolen
We take back our children
we take back our families
We take back our health
We take back our peace of mind
We take back our fortunes
In the mighty name of Jesus
We bind the power of the enemy
And claim all that you God Almighty have declared for us your children
All praise and glory be unto you Jehovah Jireh
May our prayers rise up to you as a sweet aroma
May they even be as a pleasing song sung by the angels who praise you continuosly before your heavenly throne
Halleluia, Halleluia , Halleluiah
Amen

Jesus Heals

And Jesus  departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there
And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind , dumb{ unable to hear and speak} maimed, and many others, and cast them down at his feet; and he healed them
Insomuch that the multitude wondered , when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be made whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see, and they glorified the God of Israel  {Matthew chapter 15 verses 30-31}
Dear Heavenly Father
We know from your WORD
that you gave our saviour the power to heal
so that you might be glorified
We know that you are the same, yesterday , today, and tommorrow
You are almighty
You are the Creator
and you care for your creation
We humbly  stand on the promises  that by His stripes , we are healed
In the precious name of Jesus
We ask for healing in your children
of not just our bodies but our minds
And that we be comforted in our time of need and our time of sorrow
Amen
God inhabits the praise of  His people. In your times of trouble PRAISE GOD.
Worship God and Rejoice !
Be careful of NOTHING; but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your request be made unto God
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus   { Philippians chapter 4 verses 6-7}

TRUST IN HIS LOVE

Dear Lord Jehovah
Did you know that I would be the one who loves you?
When others broke my heart and sought to take my life,
You were there beside me
No matter what I may be going through

I lift my eyes to Heaven and depend on you
On the  name of Jesus I call
You lift me up ,
I do not fall
I give you my praise, my love ,my all
Until that day , from here I rise

I leave it all , to be with you.
The one whose love comes shining through
Amen

HEALING POWER OF JEHOVAH

Jehovah Rapha - The Lord that Healeth
Exodus 15:26

Jehovah Shalom - The Lord Our Peace
Judges 6:24

Dear heavenly Father

You who created us in your own image
it is not your will that we suffer pain and infirmity
Please touch us with the mighty hand of your healing power
Remember your daughter Lucy and give her quiet thoughts and refreshing sleep  at night
Remember you son Mort and give him strength during the day and painfree sleep at night
We know that you sent the saviour Jesus to die on the cross for us that we might have life abundant.
Jesus said   that by his stripes we are healed,
We claim that healing and praise you with thanksgiving
In Jesus name I pray
Amen

JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING

Heavenly Father
Today, I need your comfort
I weep with every fiber of my being
My mind and body are so weary
There is no one to share my burden but you
No one that I can trust with my fragile spirit
No not one
Only you
And so I come with confidence to your throne
I cast my burden and my care with you
For it is you Almighty God who has always sustained me
For you are always faithful
You walk beside your children
You lift them up in their time of sorrow and wipe away their tears
Your words guide and heal our broken bodies and tormented minds
Thank you dear Father for the joy which cometh in the morning and in the midnight hours of my life
In Jesus name I dare to approach you with my needs
and  on   the behalf of all my brothers and sisters in Christ
Amen

And I will pray the father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever    { John chapter 14 verse 16}
I will not leave you  comfortless; I will come to you
{verse 18  }
and Jesus, moved with compassion , put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed    {Mark chapter 1 verse 41 and 42}
For his anger endureth but a moment, in his  favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning  { Psalm 30 verse 5}

PRAYER WORKS MIRACLES

Dear Lord ,
Please grant us peace
peace of mind
peace in our circumstances
the peace that comes from trusting you in all things
We lift up Victoria and her family in prayer
Thank you for your healing presence in the circunstances of Bob and Connie , brother in law Gary and all others that you have healed by your might
We know that you are not the author of pain and sickness but rather our help in times of trouble
we know that your heart is troubled by our suffering because you love us
Thank you for your lovingkindness and that you are mindfull of all that we go through
Let us find strength in the promise of your word
If we endure we will enjoy eternal life in your presence
adorned in glorified bodies that are not subject to the ills of this fallen world
and there will be no more tears , only joy unending
In the name of our savior Jesus
Amen
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled. neither let it be afraid.
