Feeling Chillin'

Surgery and AC Update

I want to thank everyone for your comments and emails. You guys are the best and you always touch my heart. Yesterday was a very difficult and long day, but everything went well with my husband's surgery. I don't have the stomach for hospitals or anything that goes on in them, so when they were inserting his IV I felt his pain and almost passed out. It's funny though cause I don't get like that when something is being done to me.

My husband is a very private person and he wouldn't appreciate me discussing his business with my friends or anyone else, so I'm going to respect his wishes and not get into any details about him. I'm just glad that everything worked out OK.

I was having fun with him when he was getting dressed with the hospital gown. He even got a hair net and real booties to keep his feet warm. I managed to get a picture of him in his hospital gown but he made me promise not to show anyone the picture so unfortunately I can't show his cute butt. To make up for it, here's another cute butt to look at, LOL. This picture reminds me of my son when he was a baby. He would take off his diaper whenever it was soiled and one time he made such a mess that he got poop all over his playpen, his toys and the wall. Not fun!

One thing my hubby should be happy about is that he didn't lose as many body parts as this poor guy here on the left, LOL.

I was really impressed with the hospital. They gave me a beeper as soon as we got there so I could wander around the hospital if I wanted to, and they could let me know when he was done. I thought that was cool! They beeped me when he came out of surgery then someone escorted me to a private room to wait to talk to the doctor. I thought that was very nice. After he talked to me I went back down to the family waiting area to have coffee and watch TV. When he was back in his room, they beeped me, and again someone escorted me up to his room. Whew! What a relief to see that he was OK. We were there for a few hours, so I was glad when he was told he could go home.

A lot of people don't believe in prayers or miracles, but I certainly do. When we got home from the hospital the house was cool. I couldn't believe it, the air conditioner was working and the house was nice and cool. It was amazing! I was literally in tears Wednesday night when I realized the AC still wasn't working after I had paid the repairman $200.00. I knew my husband would be in terrible pain after his surgery and coming home to a house that felt like an oven wasn't going to be good for either of us. We were both able to enjoy a cool house during the night and the AC has been working and cooling all day long. Wow! :)
