Feeling Angry
News, Updates and Stupid People
Well, first let me explain why I made a couple of blank entries in my journal. I wanted to have space available in case I needed to post something else (as I'm doing now) after my tribute to Sheryl was posted. The idea was to keep her tribute on top of the other entries for a few days. Blank entries can always be edited or deleted.
I thought I had it all worked out, however I just remembered that a while ago AOL fixed it so only one alert would go out per entry in the journals, not like before when everytime you would edit your entry it would send out a new alert and piss people off. So... I don't know if anyone will be alerted to this one since it was already alerted as being blank, and I even got a couple of cute comments on it, LOL. I do hope so though, cause I have some new info :)
Project 2'996
A lot of tributes have already been posted and I could already see the stock market going up on tissue sales from all of our crying. This was such a wonderful opportunity for us to remember the lives that were lost on that day and we have all been deeply touched by what we have learned while researching for our tributes. I was truly honored to participate in this and I am so happy that so many other AOL bloggers also participated. J-Land rocks!!! Don't forget to add this link to your tribute so others can go to the site and see other tributes. http://www.dcroe.com/2996/?page_id=2
Good News:
A 2,996 Yahoo Group has been set up so all of the bloggers who participated in 2'996 can post the links to their tributes, and discuss issues on the message board. A database has been set up and all you have to do is enter the name of your journal, the person you are honoring and the link to the journal or tribute. I think that's great! We can have our own community. That way we can keep in touch if we want to and keep informed. The forum has opened up for questions, answers, connections, information sharing, or whatever anyone wants to discuss. You will need a Yahoo screen name, since it is a Yahoo Group, but nowadays everyone has one (or several) ;-) so it shouldn't be a problem, or you can create one just for that purpose. It's pretty easy. :)
More News: A few entries back I wrote about the youngest bloggers who were participating in the 2'996 Project. They are two brothers, ages 6 and 4. Ben and Noah have posted their tribute to their honoree, Mr. Lester Vincent Marino, on their blog, The Super Adventures of Ben and Noah. Go check out this blog, you will be amazed at these two little boys.
It saddens me, no... actually it pisses me off, that so many people are objecting to what we are doing and how we chose to remember Sept 11th. These are the same type of people that I referred to in my entry about the WTC Movie. The same people that would rather keep their head up their ass and pretend that nothing happened. Or the ones that want us to leave 9/11 in the past where it belongs. How dare they?!? I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but how can people be so insensitive? WTF gets into the heads of these people? Leave it in the past??? THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE!!!!!!!! And never will be, no matter how many years go by!!!
Wake up, get your head out of your ass and realize that WE ARE AT WAR!!! How the hell are people supposed to put 911 behind them when five years later, OUR children, husbands and wives are fighting in this war? Have you forgotten why we are at war? Do any of you "911 Deniers" have a family member in the military? Probably not. WELL, I DO!!!!!
Yes, five years have passed, but the family members of those that were MURDERED on Sept 11, 2001 are still without their loved one!!! People that survived the 911 attack are still dealing with health, emotional, and pyschological issues. Our soldiers are still dying in this war.
The children that were left without a mother or father will always have 911 with them. How can they possibly forget, or put it behind them? That parent, or grandparent, or aunt, or uncle, sister, or brother, will not be there when it comes time to celebrate a birthday, graduation, Bar or Bas Mitzvah, a wedding, birth a new child, I can go on and on...
Little girls won't have their mommies around when they get their period for the first time, which is hard enough as it is, or when they have feminie issues that moms are needed for, or when they go on their first date. These are all things that went through my mind when I was doing my tribute on Sheryl Rosenbaum. Her daughter is 8 years old now, and she won't have her mommy for those things, and for numerous other occasions.
How many little boys will feel lost when things start happening to their bodies that they don't understand? How many of them do you think will be able to put 911 behind them when every day of their lives they will have to face the fact that their dad isn't around as they grow up to have those "Father & Son" talks?
What about the rest of us? Haven't we all been affected in one way or another by that tragic day? By changes that we have to deal with now as far as security goes? My husband travels every week from Mon - Fri, don't you think that 911 is a constant remimder when his business trips get affected by the airport security?
I never in my wildest dreams imagined that something like this could happen to us, here in American, on our soil, in the city that I was born and raised in, in the Towers that were a part of my childhood, the Towers where I got my first job. Never did I imagine that this could happen, and five years later it still feels like it was just the other day. Don't you dare tell me what I can and can't do in MY journal! Don't you dare tell me that I can't mourn the loss of so many innocent lives! Don't you dare tell me that I can't feel this pain that I feel because IT IS REAL! What happened to us was real, and I don't give a shit how much you want to pretend that it didn't happen. For those of you "911 Deniers," that want to forget that it happened, here is a picture of every victim of that day. May you never forget it.

I was shocked and dissapointed by many entries I read about not honoring all the victims on 9/11 Closing our eyes and minds to what happened doesnt make it better. I stand with you on this!!!

Hi, I'm from England, and I will NEVER forget what happened on 9/11. I remember the day quite clearly, how shocked and upset I was, I've done a tribute in my journal, to let EVERYONE know I'll NEVER forget. A great entry, well done for standing up so well in what some other's are afraid to say. Good for you. Take care.

Mandy,
You really don't want to know the reactions I got from people outside the UK when I suggested on a blogging site that they take part in 2996. And that was from within western Europe.
Well done.
