Feeling Quiet
Friday's are supposed to be happy days. It's a day I look forward to so I could spend time with the kids, especially my princess Cathy. She always has homework for the weekends, so she calls Fridays "boycott day." It's the one day of the week that she can actually put homework off and have time for herself and spend time with her parents.
Well, thanks to our computer problems yesterday, we didn't get to enjoy our "boycott day" and I'm really bummed about it. We won't even be able to make up for it this weekend because as always, she has tons of homework and I'm going to be tied up all weekend with work that couldn't get done yesterday, and the never-ending housework!
I could've used a couple of these yesterday! None of the computers were communicating. We tried resetting the wireless router, the DSL modem, we ran System Restore, PC Doctor, four different virus & spyware programs, and a zillion other things and discovered that the problem was with the wireless networking! That's why the router wasn't recognizing the computers and we weren't able to go online. Everything was working perfectly on Thursday night so I don't know what happened or how it happened, but Thank God this nightmare is over! ~{knock on wood}~
It's amazing how much our lives depend on computers and how everything comes to a hault when something goes wrong. There's not much comfort in that, and if you ask me, it's kind of scary! I did however find a lot of comfort in my tub after all of the problems were settled, and then I treated myself to a piece of chocolate cake! Yes, I know it was bad... but I don't care! I needed a chocolate fix because we all know that.....

We won't even be able to make up for it this weekend because as always, she has tons of homework and I'm going to be tied up all weekend with work that couldn't get done yesterday, and the never-ending housework! I really despise teachers who infringe on MY time with my daughter. It's bad enough that she's up every single night until 1:30 or 2:00 am doing homework, but then to pile the homework on for the weekend also?! That is not right and it's not fair! These fucking high school teachers that we have in Georgia DO NOT TEACH! All they do is hand out assignments, and give homework on things that they haven't bothered to teach the kids. My daughter has practically had to teach herself with the books that I have gone out and purchased myself for her to study with.

Love your graphics they just about say it all lol ~ It is a sad reflection of teaching today that the children have so much homework ~ when I went to school we did our learning there with very little homework ~ hope your computers stay working well ~ Ally

Glad to hear you are working again but shame about the time with your daughter.
I so agree with you about chocolate, if I've had a really bad morning at school, I call into our local supermarket on the way home, their bakery makes the most yummy 9 inch long, cream filled, chocolate eclairs. I go home, make a coffee, sign on to the internet and sit there revelling in every inch of the gooey chocolate and cream.

I used to feel the same way about weekends with Mandy when she had homework to do. Not only infringing on my time.....they have no time to relax and be a kid.
I hope you find some time to spend together....it's such a beautiful time of year with the fall colors.
Pooh Hugs,
Linda~
