Black Pond Baptist Church Cemetery is located in Middleburg, Clay County, Florida.  Going West on Highway 21 (Blanding Blvd), turn right.  It will be on your right.  Coming North on Highway 21 (Blanding Blvd) turn left on Allie Murray Road (dirt road) and you will dead end into the Church and Cemetery.  The Address is:  3644 Old Jennings Road.  Brother Charlie is the Preacher and a fine man he is.  If my memory is working right, Black Pond was orginally started by the late Brother James (The Weeping Prophet) Conway.  First Preacher I ever heard preach.  He was preaching at Macadonia Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.  Located on the corner of Lenox and Cahoon Roads.  Our preacher, Brother John W. Sweat, was talking the other Wednesday at Prayer Meeting about not having in door plumbing.  Better know as having an "OUTHOUSE."  Well, I can remember Macadonia Baptist didn't have one either, so Granny always had a 2 lb Maxwell House coffee can in the floorboard of the back seat for me to use.  Black Pond's Outhouse was right about where Brother Charlie's house sets now.  Granny never would let me use the outhouse, I had to always use the coffee can in the car. I can't remember where the outhouses where at Old Hickory Gove, Oak Grove or the other churches Granny led WMU and the Southern Baptist Association Meetings were held. But I can remember the coffee can.  I can also remember the song books that I was sat on by Granny so I could see over the benches.  Oh yes the BENCHES.  Children didn't move around much back then on the benches cause of splinters in the butt.  Maybe that wasn't such a bad idea huh?  Bet most of yall can't remember the saw dust shavings on the floor either that covered the dirt floors.  Now I ain't talking about the Tent Meetings which was one of my favorite places to go.  There were some good times to be had there.  The last Tent Meeting I remember going to was with Aunt Maybell, probably went to more, but it was so much fun walking from her house to up to where that car lot is now on Blanding and whatever the name of that road is.  I will check it out and add it later.  Aunt Maybell's house was about where Albertson's is today.
