The Rain, The Park and Other Things

Last week I started a Sunday Song (photo) shoot, Originally I had intended to do this weekly.  However with some consideration I've decided to make this a bi-weekly shoot and Ill have this happening the opposite week of the Community Photo Challenge.  This way no one is feeling overwhelmed with getting/taking photographs.

This week the two songs you could select from were/are:
The Rain, The Park and Other Things by the Cowsills (it's an oldie)
Hair - the Cowsills also sang this as a single and it was made popular by the Broadway play.

I was thinking of going with the 'Hair' song.  I have this big long hair blonde wig that I used for Halloween one year.  But, then I decided to ask my daughter if she would model for me and if she would, I would go with other song.
To my great surprise she said YES!  Well, she would IF I would take her to McDonalds for lunch afterwards.  It was worth lunch at McDonalds to get the photograph I had imagined in my head for this particular song.

The following are the lyrics I was thinking about when we did this photograph:

(I love the flower girl)
Oh I don't know just why; she simply caught my eye
(I love the flower girl)
She seemed so sweet and kind; she crept into my mind
(To my mind... to my mind)

I knew I had to say hello (hello... hello)
She smiled up at me
And she took my hand and we walked through the park alone

And I knew (I knew... I knew... I knew... I knew)
She had made me happy (happy... happy)
(She had made me very happy)
Flowers in her hair (in her hair)
Flowers everywhere (everywhere)

I think the photograph turned out pretty good.  Sonny suggested blurring the background to give it a 60's drug induced feel.  I think it worked.  Don't you think this looks like it could've been taken on a spring day at the park.  What you don't see in the photograph is a big frozen lake with birds walking on the ice!  Or the fact that she was starting to shiver from the cold!  She was such a trooper and the giggles were worth it all.

I sincerely hope you will consider playing along, this is simply for fun!  Enjoy a little time with your camera, come on get happy!  Oh wait, isn't that a Partridge Family Song, Come on Get Happy?  If you play along leave me a link so I can add your name and link to my list of players on Sunday.
