Church at the Threshers' campground on Saturday morning

Things don't really start happening on the Old Threshers' grounds until 9 AM or so, and Cliff and I were showered and finished with breakfast in the camper by 7:30.

Looking at the schedule, I noticed there was a church service on the campground at 8 AM:

"Cliff, I'm going to go to Church; it starts at 8."

"You're what?"

"It says here, 'Old-fashioned singing and preaching'.  We're just waiting around until 9 anyhow.  We both have cell phones, so we can keep in touch."

"Can't I go too?"

So, we were off to church.

The song-leader led us in old songs from my childhood, songs like "Love Lifted Me" and "In My Heart There Rings a Melody".  People were singing bass and alto and suprano, and it was lovely.  I'd guess there were forty or so people there... more than I'd have expected on a Saturday morning at 8 o'clock.

The speaker was a truck driver, not a full-time pastor; but he did a great job of preaching straight from the heart, in a very convicting manner.

When the hour was up we walked out, Cliff saying, "Well, I just knew that would be a snoozer, but it wasn't; it was real nice."
