My brother's band was entered into a contest with our local Classic Rock Station- WMGK 102.9. Out of over 150 entries, they whittled the list down to 15 semi-finalist bands. There were 5 rounds of competition over 5 weeks.

Every Thursday night 3 bands would compete against each other. The winner of the semi finals would move to the finals. My brother's band won Round 4 (week 4).

The finals was this past Thursday night. They competed against 4 other bands.

Before they were able to compete- within those 2 weeks before the Finals- the lead singer of the band was injured in terrible car accident. He broke his jaw, his eye socket bone, wrist, ankle, cracked ribs and had other cuts and lacerations. He had to have 3 surgeries and was still in the hospital Thursday night. He had his jaw wired shut the day before. My brother's band contacted the station and offered to back out if it wasn't OK to use a back up singer to fill-in. The radio station OK'd it and the band played on.

They went on and played AWESOME!!! They went 4th out of 5th in the Finals. We were all standing around going crazy waiting for the decision afterwards.

Finally they called a member from each band onto the stage. My brother's band.....The Dead Poets.....WON THE CONTEST!!!!!!

(You can go here www.wmgk.com and they are on the front page- announced as the winners.)

Since Faith Sinclair was killed. Vehicular Homicide. Police ID'd the car. They impounded the car. They got court order to test the car. Court order to get cell phone records. The guy was ID'd. The guy lawyered up and has been silent ever since. There is an alleged passenger who has not come forward.

A man driving a black mercedes hit and killed this young girl who had so much to look forward to in life. The alleged driver is Black and Faith was White.

Let me say this.....This is *NOT* a racial issue. And to the person who messaged me on MySpace and said that it is going to get turned into a racial issue and he's gonna get away with it.....SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Onto Delco news that mentions tidbits of the accident.

From the Delco Times:
LAUREL: To the quick resolution of a tragic hit-and-run last weekend in Philadelphia that snuffed out the life of a 5-year-old boy. The cab driver believed responsible turned himself in the next day.

DART: To whoever is responsible for running down 16-year-old Faith Sinclair more than three weeks ago in Sharon Hill. The silence is deafening.

**********************
Also from the Delco Times: The Heron's Nest

A tale of two hit-and-runs
In Philadelphia, Haitian-born cabdriver Yves Aristilde sits behind bars, with bail set at $6 million.

He is charged in the fatal hit-and-run crash that snuffed out the life of 5-year-old Tyrell Elliott as he crossed a street in the Logan section of the city with his mother just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police believe Aristilde, 62, was behind the wheel of a Yellow Cab that allegedly blew through a red light and slammed into the mother and child.

Aristilde left the scene and abandoned his heavily damaged cab a few blocks away, according to police. He turned himself in to authorities the next day.

Just a few miles away, Kimberly Ferrell sits and waits. She lost her 16-year-old daughter, Faith Sinclair, to a hit-and-run driver more than three weeks ago.

Police have impounded the vehicle they believe struck and killed the popular teen as she tried to cross Chester Pike in Sharon Hill. They know who the owner is. They're referring to him as "a person of interest." But they do not know who was driving that night. No one has been charged in the case.

The owner of the Mercedes has declined to talk to police.

Kimberly Ferrell buried her daughter, but she can't bury what happened. And she can't bury her feelings, either.

She visits the site where her daughter was killed and reads passages of the book they were sharing at the time she was so violently taken from her.

And she waits. For closure, and for justice.

***Many on here share all different views on religion, please respect my choice to share what I believe. Thank you!***

Faith is the belief that God is real and that God is good.....It is a choice to believe that the one who made it all hasn't left it all and that he still sends light into the shadows and responds to gestures of faith....

Faith is the belief that God will do what is right.

God says that the more hopeless your circumstances, the more likely your salvation. The greater your cares, the more genuine your prayers. The darker the room, the greater the need for light.

God's help is near and always available, but it is only given to those who seek it.

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it......It is by faith we understand that the whole world was made by God's command so what we see was made by something that cannot be seen...Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him. Hebrews 11: 1, 3, 6

We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed....So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles. We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see.... 2Corinthians 4:8-9, 16-18

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...

Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.

Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Older Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.

Officer: Don't have one? Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving. Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please?

Older Woman: I can't do that.

Officer: Why not?

Older Woman: I stole this car.

Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see.

The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car; a senior officer slowly approaches the car clasping his half drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please! The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Older woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.

Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.

The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.
The officer is quite stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.

The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer.

The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.
    Don't Mess With Old Ladies!

While down the Jersey Shore last weekend I saw a bunch of T-shirts for sale on the boardwalk. (Heck, I think I went into at least 12 different stores while on the boardwalk.) My daughter- HAD TO HAVE- a monkey sweatshirt/hoodie.

I found exactly what she wanted and she got it. She was in MONKEY heaven. LOL!!!

We walked by one store and one of the T-shirts said "No, I am not a walking, talking ATM Machine!!!"

I started laughing and couldn't stop. I say that all the time...but more like "What do you think I am....a walking, talking, ATM machine?" To which the kids quickly respond......"YES!!!"

Priceless.......

"This is your blog. You shouldn't have to censor what you write. I'd still be public, but I didn't want my readers to get involved with issues between my brother and me. I'm a firm believer that the best journals, are the ones who write from the heart about their life. Good and bad."

Yes, that's true. But when I am speaking of some things it's SO one sided. (As was pointed out to me)

For example: You get stalked by someone here in J-land who chooses to be an Asshole and you don't know who it is to defend yourself against it. You are basically blindsided.

But besides that I am putting too much personal info out there into cyberspace. And truly, in my case, I don't need certain people who continue to harass my family to have that kind of ammunition.

But thank you for pointing that out.

~Hugs~
