Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooner football team is one win away from playing in the Orange Bowl for the 2004 College Football National Championship. In the history of Oklahoma Football the Orange Bowl has been the site of many great victories for the Sooners.

If they can get the win on Saturday against the Colorado Buffalo's we will no doubt be in the game and have a shot at winning a second National Title for coach Bob Stoops and the 8th National Title for the school. If Oklahoma wins the Orange Bowl and goes on to win the National Title for coach Stoops it will put him one title away from two legendary OU coaches (Barry Switzer and Bud Wilkerson) and that will put him in very elite company.

In the six seasons as a head coach here at OU coach Stoops has enjoyed much success and a little failure. He has been to summit, but he has alson been to valley and hopefully we can reach the summit again this season and finish this season right. The players and coaches have had a specific goal in  mind for this season and it is to finish the season the right way and not walk away empty handed. Last season the Sooner's ended the regular season undefeated and qualified for the Big 12 championship game and they were ranked #1 in the BCS and looking to play someone in the Sugar Bowl for the National Title game. But we ran into a road block and didn't finish the way we planned. We played Kansas State University in the Big 12 title game and we got beat and some how we still made it to the Sugar Bowl and got beat by LSU and lost our shot at the title.

Hopefull that will be different this year and it will start on Saturday evening in Kansas City. I am sure the Sooner's will be much more mindful of what Colorado can do and not repeat what we saw last year in the Big 12 title game. I am a little fearful since we haven't faced Colorado this year and all they can do is watch film and game plan.
