Pecan Season has Started and custom pecan harvesting is busy, tree shakeing and picking pecans such as Kiowas and Witchataw. The first load of Kiowas I heard sold for 1.75 per pound. The pecan equipment is selling good also when equipment prices have gone up and expected to go higher again in 2006. The Savage Pecan Harvester is near 20,000.00 list price and may go over that soon which means to me the old pecan euipment has gone up in value to. Let me know what you think for the new 2005 pecan season? John

The Texas State Pecan Convention was the Largest one yet with well over 500 registered. I took the Worlds Largest Mobile Pecan and displayed it along with all the other pecan equipment. The tour and Bar BQ at the pecan orchard owned by the Berdoll's was very good show and again as other pecan tours the tree hedgeing was covered for thinning and pecan tree shaking was demostrated with a tree shaker for thinning the crop. This is done to improve quality of the nuts that are left to mature when you have to many on the tree to begin with. Over all it was a good show with lots of pecan education going on in the meeting rooms and a very good pecan equipment display by all the pecan equipment manufactures and dealers. Thanks, John
