Feeling Chillin'

COLD!

Picture from Hometown

After reading in Nancy's Journal the topic of cold I took this photo of the chimney from my woodburner.    It has been COLD here in S. Illinois being below freezing for a week with more forecast. Though yesterday it for once got above 40 F.  The coldest night of the entire winter was down to 5 degree's F.   Weather changes have made it difficult for me to sit in a chair so I have been off the computer for days at a time and then on only briefly.  I have been doing a lot of reading on my back with a board underneath a cushion reading scientific, historic, and cultural-political material from various magazines given to me and that I subscribe to.   I also have a wealth of 'Art in America' magazines from the 1980's that I browse and a subscribtion to 'American Art Review'.   The PBS airing of 'Jane Eyre' was extremely captivating with it's dipiction of the of the 19th Century class culture in England along with a tremendous story line of an orphan girl's life.   I am devoting my time to getting important things done in my home as I can so I am putting those things first.   I appreciate all of the comments I recieve and hope you will be patient on my responses to your journals or by email.   I don't think it would be a winter without some cold and snow though I know some are getting more than their share of snow in places.   From my little view on life, I say 'good-bye',   mark

(A request for my friend Barbara)   She is a wonderful singer and if you would care to listen to her and make a vote for her I know how grateful she would be.    I only say this because she really is a talented person.

Hi Mark.  Just popping in to say "hello".  I see it's been a while since you posted.  I do bloglines and don't do alerts (except for private journals that bloglines won't take) and I'm getting to do some reading this morning.

Hope your back is doing ok.  I feel so bad for you not being able to sit and having to read while laying down.

Take care.  Thanks for your comments earlier.  I think you had stopped by while TheTeen was sick and left a comment for her to get better, if my memory is correct.  (It suffers - LOL).  She still has a bit of pneumonia but is functioning fine and they have her on another week of antibiotics and we go back to doc in 2 weeks to make sure all is gone.

We've been very cold lately too.  Fortunately, as I write this, we're enjoying a nice balmy Sunday afternoon (Mar 11).  I actually got out to take down Christmas lights today!!!

Hey Mark.  I'll bet you've been in a mess up there with all this cold.  It's gotta hurt.  I know my Tom says his knee hurts the worst when it's so cold.  Spring is showing in our area a bit, I've noticed the blooms on trees and bulbs too.  It will be nice to get some warmth.  Remember time changes THIS WEEKEND!

We had a woodburning stove in our double wide.  We never used the furnace, just the woodburner.  It kept our trailer lots warmer than that furnace ever thought about doing!  Now, we have two fireplaces.  Just have not had much time for getting out and getting the firewood!~

    Stay warm!~

    Blessings!~
