September is apple pickin time for us!

A week-end at York Beach,Maine

Kev and I were able to get away a couple of weeks ago to York Beach,Maine. It was one of those sporatic type decisions at the last minute. It had been a long week with the day care kiddes and when he suggested it, I said, hell yes! Off we went with no reservations and found a motel near the water. We hung by the pool with some drinks in hand and at night we were on the beach listening to a DJ spin some music along with a big bond fire they had going on and selling hot dogs and burgers right on the beach. Figures I left my camera at the room as I was afraid to get sand in it and didn't feel like carrying it around. A couple of sand dances and all the people there were awsome! The second night we ate at a seaside restraunt with lobster and steamers, yum!A good way to unwind and recharge the ole battery!

A day of Apple and Pumkin picking

Today was a fun day! My friend Vonnie,her husband,her daughter and son in law, their three children and one of my day care children Marcos went to Honey Pot Farms in Stow, MA. It was a gorgeous day for this activity and we started out at 11:30 am on our way. I got the kids singing three cheers for the bus driver (thats me,lol ) and then of course a few choruses of Old McDonald just for the fun of it. They soon were asking for the radio station of "kiss 108", which is a popular radion station in our area that plays all of the "IN" songs that these kids seemed to know all the words to, lol ! I swear if the teachers in all schools got together and put their required assignments in some sort of ryhming hip tune, all the kids would have every subject down in no time at all! lol Anyway, we got there and started with the small baby farm animals like the goats and the three little pigs. They even had the three little pigs houses but no wolf was seen on the premises as far as we could see,lol. Next was a hayride around the farm and stops along the way to pick up and drop off more people. We then got to work with picking our apples in the orchards. The kids loved picking up their ladders and helping carry them along the route to the trees. They took turns climbing up the ladders for those lusious apples hanging at the top. Those were the best as they had no animal holes in them like the ones at the bottom. The place was packed with hundreds of people doing the same as we. The price of course had gone up since last year to $20 for a large bag and $17 for a small and then they even sold a $4 bag for the little tots to fill. Besides all this there was also a general store where there were all kinds of baked goods,jarred jellies, and honey. Honey bear was there for the picture taking and I did see that poor kid putting on his costume and it looked quite hot inside but he was very patient with all who wanted their pics taken with him. We stayed there for at least three hours of fun with watching the kids run,climb and laugh. Afterwards we stopped along the way at a Wendys and had lunch. The ride home was rather quiet as the kids were pooped out and napped all the way home like the good little Piglets at the farm had been doing when we were there,lol ! I printed out all the pics for everyone when I got home so they could keep their memories and all thats left to do now is to start baking tomorrow with all those apples. All I gotta do is to find someone who is willing to peel all those apples for me,lol ! I know its all so corny but........... honestly so much fun for all. Now any good recipes out there, send them my way!! I'm a cook but a baker I'm not! lol

Isabella's Christening

Isabella Angelina had her christening and as you can see everyone loves her and wants to hold her. My son Keith ( pix # 20,21 and 22 along with his girlfriend Jillian)is the godfather and we all attended this beautiful event. The pictures have been sitting in my camera for far to long now and its time to do something about it. There were at least 5 other babies being christened that day but all went smooth and happy. After the christening we were invited to a beautiful chinese restraunt for a sit down dinner by her mom and dad, Paul and Edi-jo. It was a wonderful day to remember.

I was just sent this video and I hope that it comes through here as I've never downloaded a video here in my journal. I found this to be quite disturbing when watching it. This is a demonstration of what our cell phones could possibly have the ability of doing to our brains. Korean students have tested this theory with a popcorn Kernal and putting on or near a cell phone. I was amazed at seeing the kernal pop when it sat on top of a cell phone. It makes me wonder if this is really a fact and if so do the "powers" that be know this like the "tobacco" industry had knowledge of what smoking could do to our lungs? I think of every child,teenager and also adults who use their cell phones as their main phones. Many people I know have discontinued their land lines and opted to use their cell phones as their only phone. It does make one stop and think. Is this possibly the next horrific cover up of behalf of an industry that makes billions upon billions of dollars every year? If anyone has any information on this subject please share it here and in other journals whether good or bad. I think it is something worth tabling and inserted into conversations everywhere. After all grass roots are the only way we have to bring big business to the table to discuss these things that effect us all.

From Pirate ships to fun at the park

Ahoy there "mates",shiver me timbers, make them walk the plank, and scrape the barnicles off the ship!! These were things I was telling Marcos and Jaleny to say as they boarded their ships to set out to sea! lol They looked at me like I had two heads and didn't have a clue as to what this all meant but I told them this is what pirates say and they went along. I found these two adorable inflatables at Targets and just couldn't pass them up. They came complete with inflatable swords,cannons,steering wheels for the ship, and water pistols that were attached to the ships so they could squirt each other. Well as I was pumping air to them Marcos exclaimed, I sooooo excited, these are way cool! I knew right then and there I had struck gold with my purchase! lol They had fun all day long but it only lasted two days as the rain has set in and we haven't been in the pool for days now. I really hope things change this week although it doesn't look promising at this point with the weather.

On Thursday my friend Vonnie and her two grand children Shayne and Michael met us at our local park where the boys had a wonderful day for over 4 hours. They had a great game of kick ball too and I was busy taking their pics everywhere. lol I think we're going to get them together again this week too.

Marcos graduates from Pre-school

My daycare boy Marcos graduated from pre-school a couple of weeks ago. He attended St.Catherine's school and the graduation ceremony took place in the lower church. All three classes were doing the same. Each class took their turn getting up in front and singing a song they had learned for this special occasion.They all received a little diploma which was so adorable. We were allowed to take pictures in front of the statues and near the altar as well. As you can see the boys got a little shall we say, silly and just being boys, lol and when I went to take one of the photos they each decided to make a funny face. At first I was going to scold them but didn't have the heart and thought to myself, God would not mind them having a little fun even if it was in church. His teacher caught it and chuckled a little her self too. Marcos Mom and grandfather were there as we all were. My granddaughter Caitlin is also friends with Marcos sister and they were there for the occasion as well. The other little boy is a my friends grandson and I had taken him with me as I was watching him for her. When it was over we took both boys out for brunch and then back to my house.

P.S. the captions under these pics have nothing to do with them. I had inadvertently downloaded them with other pics I had and never got around to changing the title. sorry bout that!
