Hearing Scenes From An Italian Restaurant--Billy Joel

Some People in NEPA...

I was just reading the Talkback section on my favorite local station's website, and it seems the majority of the posts on there are rants about the weather, the local school districts, and/or how both are colliding.  I think my daughter went to school on time once all last week, due to either snow (see January 23rd entry) or near/below zero temps.  I don't blame the local school superintendents for doing what they think is necessary--if they didn't, they wouldn't be where they are today...!  It's hilarious reading blog after blog about how people are getting tired of seeing delays running across the screen, lawsuits, and cold snaps of years past.  Posts starting with, "When I was in school....", and, "I'm so sick of this...", etc.  This to me is funny.  Personally, I wouldn't blog about this subject, just out of sheer embarrassment.  That and I accept the fact I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and this is the weather we get.

To the people who do complain about numerous delays/closings (you know who you are)...c'mon...if you don't like it, you have one of three options.  Number one, the obvious option--move to a warmer climate, DUH.  Second, along with posting on the local website to voice your opinion, you can also attend one of those school board meetings...you know what they are.  Lastly, you can always homeschool your children--that way you wouldn't have to worry about them EVER being delayed or closed for the day!

I just needed to get that off my chest...that's been bothering me for about a week.  I can just imagine what kind of hell I'm going to get for this one....heeheehee.

til next time... =)
