Feeling Happy
baby news
Well, Sherry demanded an update, so here's one for ya! LOL Above is a pic of baby Macy sleeping like a little dolly. This was following a kind of rough night we had last night. I think she tricked us into thinking she was very demure and unfussy. LMAO. She will be a week old tomorrow, and since we brought her home Saturday, she has slept wonderfully at night. She usually gets up a couple of times, but goes right back to sleep after being changed and fed. That was not the case last night. LOL. We started trying to get her to sleep around 11, and she was fussy and wailing. Poor Hailey was in bed, and I figured Macy was keeping her up half the night, although she said she didn't hear a thing! Anyway, nothing we were doing seemed to be consoling her. She was fed, changed, burped...cuddled, and wailing. We would lay her down, and she'd LOOK like she was going to sleep... and she would for 20-30 mins and then promptly wake up screaming as soon as Mike and I dozed off. This went on until 3 a.m! I don't know if she had gas or what...upset belly or something. When she fell asleep at 3, Mike and I passed out until 7:15 a.m... in time to say goodbye to Hailey... then Mike got up and I slept a couple more hours. I woke up to the sound of a JACKHAMMER outside my window. What are the odds, huh??? LMAO They were digging up a gas line or something right next to our driveway. Of course, by that time, Macy was very tired and not even a jackhammer was going to rouse her. LOL
I don't know if I told you this, but Macy has my hands and Mike's feet. I have very long fingers, and Mike has very long toes. LOL. She has the most adorable feet! Her toes are long and her feet seem too big for her little body. LOL.
Haileyseems to have adjusted very well. She is very helpful with the baby, always wanting to do things for her and hold her. On Saturday Hailey and I are going to do something together, just the two of us. I've barely been out of the house in the past week... although I am not complaining - I love being able to be here with the baby and also here when Hailey gets home from school!!! Oh yeah, and being able to watch Dr. Phil each day ain't bad either. LMAO. I am getting into a routine.
Well, I went back to the gym today. I worked out up until one day before I went into labor, and I am very proud of that! It was like going on a big "outing" being able to leave the house for an hour and go work out. LOL. Mike stayed here with the baby (he has 2 weeks off from work) and I think she slept most of the time I was gone! Anyway, I ran on the treadmill and really jacked up my pace up to where it used to be. It felt really good being able to run without carrying a baby around anymore! Although I must say I do miss having her in me and feeling her move around. It's even better having her here in person, though!
My lungs hurt after I was done working out, I could tell I worked hard! I also weighed myself. I gained 26 pounds in the pregnancy and I've lost half of it! I feel good about that. I have 13 more pounds to go but I'm sure it will come off relatively easily.
Well, that's about all the news... just loving life and enjoying being a mom... it's weird to think I have TWO daughters now!

She's a doll!!! There are some really wonderful little drops you can pick up at the pharmacy without an RX that will relieve the gas if that is what is bothering her. Just ask your pharmacist. ;o) - Barbara
