A day at the Zoo!

Hi guys!  I finally made it back to the Bronx Zoo...after many years.  It's such a cool place (and VERY kind to the animals)!  Afterwards, we had lunch in "Little Italy", but I just couldn't get myself to take any photos of the hanging meat...some were even "whole"...just skinned.  (Poor little rabbits).   It was just too hard, especially right after a visit to the zoo...lol!

I'll start out sharing just a few, but I'm saving my favorites for another time.   Enjoy....

Oh, I love your Zoo pictures.  I love the zoo too and haven't been for a while.  How can we stay away?  Just too busy, I guess.  The colorful bird with wings outspread is a great one...I'll have to post my flying duck soon....which I took during a walk in a Japanese garden here in Seattle.  You've got a great site!  THanks for visiting mine too!

Great Zoo pictures.  I think the zoo is one of the most overlooked photo opportunities around.  I guess there is just so much stigma surrounding them that people think they are just for kids.  Actually, I used to hate going to the zoo as a kid, tolerated it as a young adult, and now embrace it as an adult photographer.  Nowhere else can you find such a wide assortment of animals while still being within walking distance of running water.
