~ Hump Day ~
I swear I had nothing to do with this, other then purchasing the lawn type ornament. When my sister and I went to get the first bird feeder we saw this. We both loved it. A little lawn ornament that is a tic tac toe board. We decided to go back and get it for my Mom for her Mother's Day gift. We thought it would look cute in her backyard some place near the built in pool. A nice decoration. As she unwrapped the gift 'Bug' made a big deal. First it was in a fairly large box, and she wanted the wrapping paper. 'Don't rip it, it's beautiful,' she said over and over as my Mom took her time opening. That in itself had us laugh. She didn't just say 'beautiful' it was 'beeeeeeeeuuuuuutiful' so theatrical. And she left all the other goodies at her Grandma's but she did remember that paper!
Well, once it was taken out of the box and the bubble wrap was removed we set it up on the kitchen table to get a good view. In walks my nephew. He walks over to the table and sets it up. We roared. Now my family reads my journal, so they knew of 'little pecker' and 'morning woody' so it was only fitting I now have a graphic for hump day. As an FYI I added the text to the picture. He had no idea, he was just being funny. Then my Mother laughs and calls for my Dad as she makes her way into the family room to help him, cane and all, out to the kitchen so he can see what his Grandson did. The giggles from my parents only made us laugh harder.
My day was good. My new boss had set up a program 'On the Spot Award', and today I was given the award. Wuuuuu huuuuuuu cold hard cash. Not a ton of money, but something that will come in handy and it's nice to be appreciated. Going forward it will be given out once a month. Let's hope I can get a few more times before the year ends. I am also contemplating working a compressed work week schedule. We are offered flextime and currently I work 8:30-4:30 with a half hour lunch. The compressed week is working 8-5:30 for 4 days and then on the 5th day you'd work 8:30-12. I was thinking that would be nice to work each Friday for the summer. Working out some of the details, and we'll see if it is something that flies.
Next week will be an extremely short week. I am taking off Monday. I will be driving my son and his girlfriend to airport for their trip to Disney. They have to be there at 5:30. OUCH! I decided instead of getting home and trying to get to work and be functional I'd just take the day. I am using a 2 hour pass on Thursday and off Friday... then Monday because of the holiday. I may be going up to the camp on the St. Lawrence River. It's been in my brother-in-laws family for years. It's not to awful far from Alexandria Bay and the Thousand Islands. We'll probably leave early on Friday and take a leisurely ride so I can get pictures. Still working out the details there too.

~ We are Family ~
LMAO... pretty self-explanatory, don't you think? While at my sisters on Sunday we had some fun with picture taking. Decided to grab us all with my Mom.... younger sister, younger brother (Cabana Boy, remember?), yours truly, my sister 'Martha' Karen (who lives with me), my older sister (the kids grandma and who's house we were at), my sister-in-law (older brother's wife), and my older brother (the oldest of the bunch). We had some good laughs while posing. Actually, we had some good laughs throughout the day. One of the highlights was when my Mom opened her present from my sister and I. We all laughed, snorted, and cried as my nephew had some fun with it. Promise to share those pictures another day. :::evil grin::: so stayed tune.

~ Fabulous ~
Fabulous indeed. All the way around. You may remember not to long ago I mentioned 'Bug' got her haircut. Today I was able to capture some great shots. These of her blowing bubbles on her Grandma's deck. She was having the time of her life, though you see her concentrating. What a hoot this child is!!! I have more of the family, but I'm too tired to get into it right now.
The day was perfect except for the rain that fell around dinner time. Bar-b-que burgers, several salads, split pea soup, and desserts galore including ice cream cake. My nephew's birthday is on the 13th so we did a bit of celebrating for him too. Least we could do since he helped his Dad prepare the meal. Happy 24th Jeff!!
My son did make it after work and it was great to see him. He got me a great picture frame I will use for some of my pictures. Six slots in all. I love it!!! Once I decide on the pictures and have it hanging maybe I will take a picture and post it. He also gave me a framed picture of him and his girlfriend. I adore it. Do I leave it at home or brag at work? LOL Haven't decided. For now it's right near me while here on the PC.
Wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful Mother's Day wishes. I so appreciate it. The comments, emails, and cards were wonderful. I also want to thank you for understanding about the graphics. It's not the snagging of the snags, that is why I do it. It's the slapping another signature on them and claiming them as their own.
Well folks I'm tired so it's off to bed. GRRRRRRR Back to work tomorrow. Hope everyone had a grand day.

Yeap, I'm happy. I just got off the phone with my son. Makes me laugh.. makes me cry.. happy tears. He made my day as he does so often, and he doesn't even realize it. Again, I hope everyone has a great day... filled with love, happiness, and the strength to embrace good memories of loved ones who can't be with us on this day.
Bee Happy....... yes be happy even if AOL is messing up. I've heard folks are disappearing off of buddy lists, even tho they are not blocked. Journals acting up and not showing up. Comments disappearing... emails disappearing.... ahhhh be happy anyway it's just AOL.
I am happy... but will admit there is something that has been popping up more and more. I was emailed not to long ago about snags and why I don't do many. Well, the truth be known. I'm tired of folks snagging, altering by resizing or stopping animation. By tagging and then adding their sig line to the graphic. Sharing as though it is their work, or sharing and then acting as though they do not know where they got it. Maybe they don't... maybe they snagged it from someplace else. I just know that I've been following the licensing rule and adding my information only to see it claimed by someone else. I pay for the right. How dare someone take it upon themselves to basically steal and claim as their own with my license information. Many of you know my work, as well as others that follow this rule. I would hope that if you see something like this done you will not take advantage but rather ignore the offers or the urge to use. This is the only way these 'thieves' will stop. Same goes for those that take my personal pictures/collages. I ask rather clearly that they not be taken, let alone taken and tagged to be shared with others and have a stamp/signature of someone else. It is happening more and more, and frankly as much as I don't want to go private.............. I watch as my counter goes up by 40-50 after an entry but I have 10-15 comments. Not that I expect folks to always comment, though it's nice.... something is stinky here. Now, I'm not giving an opinion on whether it's right or wrong to have a license. That is up to the tagger. What I am saying is I do pay for the right to use the tubes, the scraps, and I am willing to share, but not so someone else can claim it. I would hope folks would understand. I am seeing it more and more, not just with my work, but many. Please help put a stop to it if you see it. I and everyone else would appreciate it.
Ok........ done ranting.... off to Bee Happy........ dinner has been decided.. Bar-b-que burgers... YUM!!!

~ A Family Thing ~
Soooooo it's been a bit since I wrote anything... just nothing to say really. Tid bits here and there.... All is well.. work is work.. the house is the house.... except for maybe my bathroom sink. GRRRR it started draining a bit slow so we plunged last night. Big mistake. HUGE mistake!!! Completely clogged now. LOL I think we plunged everything for blocks around into our pipes. This morning my sister took the trap off and we emptied what we could. OMG freaking gross!! The plumbing in this house sucks as it is. Everything has to go up hill to the main sewer. Well, now it's not completely clogged but it is slow. Will have my landlord/cousin snake when he gets home from Texas. In the meantime it will be the kitchen sink for any extended running of water. Could be worse, could be the toilet.
Tomorrow will be a family thing. Going to my sisters for Mother's Day dinner. Not sure what her husband has in store. He did the shopping. We thought, keep it quick and easy... do burgers and dogs on the grill. If you knew my brother-in-law you'd know that isn't gonna happen. He is going to buy way too much and it will be steaks or something of that nature. I'll let you know. LOL My son will be working 7am-7pm so he will be over when he is done, if we are still hanging out. Otherwise we will do dinner during the week. I already know part of my gift. I mentioned weeks ago I wanted a set of frames to put my pictures in the hallway. He called last weekend to verify. LOL He keeps asking what else I want, 'time with you.' We'll see. My nieces and brother-in-law are thinking they will stay at home. Can't say I blame them. It's going to be a very tough day. The month of May is tough. Wedding anniversary on the 1st and then Mother's Day. If you think about it, could you send them some good vibes?
Wednesday evening we went to Roswell Cancer Institute. They had a remembrance/memorial. It was so emotional. So many folks touched by cancer. So many deaths. They started out with a picture slide show of all those being honored. I looked at my brother-in-law and he shook his head yes. Without a word he knew I was asking if he sent in a picture. Tears immediately flowed. The service was beautiful and covered so many religions. The songs, tear jerker's. It was so hard. Yes, there was a peace, but I miss my sister. When all was said and done we stood to leave. As I looked down I could see wet spots on my shirt. The tears missed by the Kleenex. Oh I could only imagine what my eyes and face looked like. Looking at the other folks there gave me an idea. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.
Not much planned for today. I have to run to the store for a few things and get my laundry done. I thought about taking a ride to get pictures but with the price of gas these days I wonder..... Not that I'm so poor I can't afford it. It just seems so wasteful in a time when so many can't. Gas here is almost $4 dollars a gallon. I've seen stations with prices as high as $3.94 and that is for regular. OUCH!!!
::giggle:: I've been so addicted to the bird feeder I went and bought another. So far the squirrels have stayed away. Maybe it's because it's a little harder to get to so they are taking the easy route. LOL Just like us humans most of the time. I had to laugh when I saw what appeared to be some what of a family at the feeder this morning, perfect for my 'family thing' entry. :)
Are you a mother? LMAO!! Sorry couldn't resist. Just want to wish all the Mother's out there a very happy day. May the sun shine for you and may love fill the air. For those who have left us to soon I send a prayer and strength to your families. Enjoy my friends, you WILL be thought about.
