~ Boys will be Boys .... an Update ~

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I so appreciate you all thinking of my brother and sending good vibes and prayers his way. He and I may not always get along, but he is my brother and I want no ill will towards him. Well, unless I'm beating the pulp out of him for being an ass. :)
I can say that, LOL, I love him.
They took him down for surgery about 11 this morning. He was brought back to his room about 2. The doc went in and cleaned out the goop and mess of an infection. He also removed some tissue. They strongly feel the excess tissue is the culprit. Sometimes the bottom of the foot and side, where the tissue gathers gets dry and cracks. Something must have gotten in there, maybe. They aren't even sure. It was one helluva an infection, but they are confident they got it all and whatever is left would be minute. The powerful antibiotics he is on should take care of it. When they were done with the surgery they took him for a bone scan. No results yet.
I did just talk to him and he seems in fairly good spirits. This morning before they took him we talked and he was so scared of losing his foot. It's still there, but he is unable to wiggle his toes yet, mostly because of the bandage :) They will keep him tonight and most likely tomorrow to watch him. The results of the bone scan will give a better outlook on the next step. No pun intended. He was pretty doped up and ready for more sleep so I let him go. Tomorrow he might be more in the mood for visitors. Of course.. he will be in pain for a bit.......
Thanks again you folks rock!
Hugs

i have him in prayer....truly. I am so glad the doc got the infection....if he was a diabetic, it could be life threatening. My friend Howard, a diabetic, had his toenails removed and almost lost his foot. Scary.
love,lisa
