~ Unexpected Visitors ~
Yeap, I had a few of them... or sort of. Shortly after my sister left for work there was a knock at my door. It was my cousins wife. She stopped by to let me know there were ducks in the backyard. They flew in and walked around the yard. They stayed pretty much near the fence line. At one point I thought they were looking for a way out, but maybe they were looking for a place to build a nest. Not sure, but with a dog in the house I do hope they find someplace else.
As I stood at the bathroom window snapping pictures, I heard 'Mom.' I answered back with, 'I'm in the bathroom.' Mind you, the door was open but my son stood in the kitchen talking to me. I think he thought since I was home alone........... So I tell him he can come back that I wasn't 'going'. He says, 'Are you taking pictures out the window? Freak!' I laugh. He stands in the doorway talking to me about this and that. He again calls me a freak for taking so many pictures. 'Go look at the picture frame, it's on the table.' He walks away and next thing I hear, 'these are awesome Mom. You've got some great pictures.' I smile and reply, 'yeah this freak has gotten some good shots, eh?' We both laugh.
He hangs out for a bit getting some last minute things for his trip. Reminds me I have to be at his house before 5 am, and proceeds to tell me he will call. GRRRRR Means I will have to have my phone with me from the time I get up so not to wake my sister. I'd tell him not to bother, but we all know would happen then. I'd oversleep. While chatting he jumps on line to get some information and check the weather. 'I'm buying you a new keyboard.' I was in the kitchen and came to the doorway, 'what's the problem, can't find the keys?' I had to laugh. I think my sister has the same problem. Neither are familiar with where the keys are. I've long since worn the letters off some keys but took years of typing so it doesn't bother me. Guess it's time, eh? Maybe a new fancy one with lots of bells and whistles. We'll see.
Later in the day I notice 'woody' is back at the feeder. I guess he didn't like it when the center tube was slim pickings. I went to the window and watched through my camera lens. Then all of a sudden he peeks around the corner as another bird appears. I thought it was priceless. 'What are you doing at my dinner table?' Both birds ended up flying away, but I was able to grab the shot. I think I know a few guys who wear their hair in that style. You?
Congrats to the 'guins for winning their series and moving on to the Stanley Cup finals. After Philly played so hard in game four I really thought today would be interesting. Not! The 'guins beat them 6-0. I felt horrible for Marty Biron, the Philadelphia goalie. He deserved better, but then again I've seen it before with him. So Pittsburgh moves on to play the winner of the series in the West. Dallas made it interesting by winning game 4 and 5. Detroit is winning the series 3-2 and they play again Monday, in Dallas. It's rare a team can come back from being down 3-0 in a series, but it has been done. Can Dallas force it to game 7? We'll see.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. The weather here has been chilly and raining. They are calling for that all week, with it finally warming up for the holiday weekend. My son has a better forecast, they are calling for 90's all week.
