~ Fun in the Sun ~

Oh yeah.. summer has arrived. Since the rain stopped on Thursday, the temperature has been rising each day. Bright blue sky and the hot sun so you know where we've been. Mom and Dad's backyard in the pool. It's been heaven! I'm so thankful they have it and don't the mind the company. I've been there more then I've been home. Lots of cooking on the grill. Today the humidity came rolling in and they are saying we will get rain tonight. I'm sure with all the heat we need it, and I guess my parents need a break from us. LOL

Bug is quite the swimmer and she has no fear. We've been having so many tea parties underwater. She keeps her eyes open and the other day the sun became to much with the combination of chlorine. She grabbed my brothers sunglasses and her Dad's hat. Yeap you guessed it, the poses started. A natural beauty indeed. Ok, so I'm her great aunt and I'm supposed to say that..... but she is irresistible.

All is well with me... I've been getting to bed fairly early. Sun and fresh air has been making me tired. Swimming adds to it too. No great news at work but tomorrow we do have a department meeting that the President will be involved in. I'm not sure how much information will be shared, they are still working on some things... so yes I'm asking that you keep your fingers crossed a bit longer :) Thanks!

~ Scared ~

Yeap Mom was a bit scared as you see.... Steak was great tonight.. it could have been a bit more tender.. I was hoping for melt in your mouth, you know? But it wasn't bad. The kids weren't there today they had other plans. It was relaxing and quiet :)

I had taken my camera just in case and on my way home it was dinner time for the other 'deers' so I stopped at the same place I went to last night and found them. I pulled off the side of the road and turned my car off. I was going to get out but I thought they'd smell me and never come so I just opened the window, camera in hand and ready. I saw Mom and baby come out and I waited a few seconds to see if I could get them completely out of the cover of weeds and trees. Just as I took the picture a black truck pulled in behind me and scared Mom.. off she went in hurry and baby reacted after I took the shot. The truck sat behind me for a second and the left. I decided to drive away and come back. Kind of let things settle. As I was driving down the road I saw more deer so I pulled over to get shots. Once again the black truck pulled up behind me slowly and then did a U-turn. I knew it was the same truck because of the stickers on the back window. Off the deer went. As he passed by I held up my camera as to say, 'hey give me a break.' I then went back to the original spot. and there were tons of deer now. Ok, not tons but maybe 10. I slowly pulled over turned off my car and started to take shots. Yeap, you guessed it the asshole pulled up again leaving his truck running. The deer didn't run at first but they were definitely skittish. Again I lifted my camera again so he could see. I didn't know if he thought I was casing out houses... even tho there are very few or if he thought I was going to shoot them, but damn he pissed me off. I decided to just leave. GRRRRRRRRR

Thanks for all the sweet comments about my little rant earlier. I just want to clarify that I'd NEVER rip someone else's work, tag it without their permission. Without it I won't do it... it's against the basic rules. The creator gives permission on their work..... and it's not their work I mind tagging... it was the way it was done that rubbed me a bit wrong I guess. Maybe I over reacted. Just felt I might have been taken a little advantage of. I hardly know the person who asked... maybe a handful of comments in my journal over the past 3 years.... so it's not like I don't like them. I don't know them....

Suppose to be hot tomorrow so no doubt it will be another day at Mom and Dad's... hope everyone had a great Saturday!

You're on candid camera! LOL Good 'ole Bug... I was ready to take her picture as she sat at the table in my parents backyard yesterday. She was moving all over reaching for something out of my view. Low and behold she gave me a dose of my own medicine. Not sure if she actually took the picture or was just playing, but it was pretty cute.

Woke up a bit crabby and down in the dumps today. It's a combination of things, and I know I'll bounce back in no time. I thought playing with a picture of the little charmer and some of nature's beauty would help me bounce out of the funk.

I'm probably only mentioning this because of my mood... but I have to wonder what others think of this.. it has me in a quandary. It's obvious I do tags and know how to add names to other things, and I don't mind being asked to do it on occasion. So many of you also know I have no issue making graphics of a personal nature. I have done tons. But.... how would you feel if you got an email with a zipped file attached (not the first time). This email is from someone who hasn't visited your journal in what seems like months... many many many months. Maybe they have and they just haven't commented... hard to tell... No requests for my tags.. but that's ok they aren't for everyone. I know I have folks who request tags but never once comment on a regular entry.. no big deal. But this person out of the blue emails.... In the zip file is several tags of someone else's and the email asks me to put their name on it. How would you feel? Would you do it? I did do it and emailed them back but I have to say today it really kind of bothered me... like I said maybe the mood... how would you react? Just curious......

Gonna finish laundry and be off to my parents for a steak dinner and some quiet time.. maybe a dip in the pool. Have a great Saturday!

As you may have already know, the rain did stop for the bash last night. The party started with more food then one could imagine. Pasta salad? You name the kind it was there. Tuna, shrimp, Italian/veggie, sauce and sausage, there was tray after tray full to brim. Regular salads, taco salads, baked beans, chuck wagon beans, fruit salads, perogi's (did I spell that right?).... anyway I can't even begin to describe the lay out of side dishes. Pulled pork, roast beef, chicken, sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers. They had shrimp, clams, lobster. If you couldn't find something you liked, I feel sorry for you :) There was over 500 people, and the company was great. Funny how small a world it is too. I ran into a girl I went to school with. First grade right up to twelfth. How nice that was. Lots of talking, laughing, and yes eating. I think I over did it about 3 times. LOL The kids had fun playing games and running around. Ice cream and dessert came out later. I've never seen so many goodies. Too bad too, I had absolutely no room to even taste any!

As darkness fell it was off to a comfy chair in a good spot for the show. Because it was a professional show the fire department came, just in case. The truck in place the show began. It was unbelievable! They were so close you felt as though you could reach out and touch them. I did get some good shots. Some not so good... I was busy eewwwing and aahhing like the rest of the crowd. The party continued until after 2 am.

Today was pretty relaxing around my parent's pool. You see Gage tried his hand at surfing. LOL He's as funny as his sister!! Just burgers on the grill today, but I was still full from last night..... My niece had to work today. They are down to one car for the time being so in order for the kids to stay the day I volunteered to pick her up at 11. This way her husband has the car and doesn't have to pack the kids to go get her later. On my way home I drove by the house she is working at. I wanted to do it while it was still light out. Make sure I knew where I'd be going later in the evening. Right before I reached the house, there on the side of the road these deer were eating. I pulled over and opened my car window. Out came the camera. They barely flinched. Shots of teeth and tiny antlers.... can't ask for anything better :)

The past two days have been busy and fun.... hope everyone else had a great couple of days and a wonderful holiday. I have pictures galore that will no doubt hit this journal before long. Off to pick up my niece and then to bed.
