People

People are really wonderful don't you think? Right? Wrong? Maybe but well who knows really. Some people are wonderful while others are down right b=nasty, ignorant but then can be a wide range of things. I like to observe them and see how they react to different changes. Especially the kids here. Some scream bloody loud just to get some attention but find this very disgusting but cannot relly tell the parent this as they just might not fully comprehend what I am telling tem. Then you have some men walking around with their shirt halp up showing off their disgusting belly while blowing smoke to annoy those around them. These are the disgusting asswholes of a city and te country. They might squat and let out bodily fluids right on the street. Or soid waste and find it just ok. Stare at the foreigner and ask stupid questions. I just ignore them at this point. Find some more interesting.

At the big intersection from where I live you can find 6 or 7 traffic cops. Youngs guys who are just new to their jobs. They all smile or say hello to me when I try to cross the street or when at the sidewalk. Really polite and friendly. A few try to speak to me in English and like wise I try my bad Chinese. They get a kick out of this but know I work at the hugh school. Some students might walk with me and they just once again smile or try to say something. Nice guys. The traffic is wicked. Really wicked and no regard at allto the safety of anyone. Many accidents and yes a few do die. They wear no safety hats when riding a bike or motorcycle. Oh yes, a few wear safety hats from construction but bikes afraid not. Drivers seldom use turn signals or watch for the lights. No regard for a red light.Sad but if they the cops will give out tickets maybe things would improve.

imagine

hey just imagine being in a place where for 5000 years or less history was being made but few really did tink much about it. Imagine being in a land where one can see so many wonders and think wow these people are highly intelligent. Take a wak along the great wall or head over to the Forbidden City just off Tinamin Sq or go to the Summer Palace and just stroll along the paths and think about who did this same thing years before.

The Great Wall is actually a marvel created by many people and any died as it was being built. When they did die well dig a hole put you in and you became part of the creation and so life went on. The wall criss crosse the major parts of China and most go to the parts near Beijing but there are other sections as well which get little notice. You can hike all day and ten sleep at night atthis place.  Really interesting.

The Forbidden City well is huge. How many rooms are there? To be exact 9,999 and 1/2. The emperor did not want 10,000 but still well who wants to clean all these rooms. It was a city where people live but did not  go out nor did many come in. A great place really.

Then to me the greatest is Xi'an where the Tera Cotta warriors are located. Built in the Qin dynasty and uncovered in the 1970's by acccident. Thousands of clay solkdiers stand guard ready to fight or defend the emperor but no two faces are alike. Now this in itself tells you how intellignt these people were. Loved it really an dbeen there severl times. Then you have torelly try to understand some of the history of ths great nation.

Ok think one can enjoy what he can once in China. It has so much and so much is still hidden or lost forever. The big rivers are another wonderful marvel to see and visit. I can go tothe Yellow River almost any day and enjoy the beauty ad quietness or just try and walk along the banks thinking who travled these waters 1000 years ago.
