Subway Threat Day 2

It was an uneasy, but fortunately uneventful commute this morning for most New Yorkers...

AOL News has a pretty comprehenisve roundup of the situation here, which includes a report that a suspicious package has shut down part of Penn Station.

I had my eye out for increased police presence on my way in from Brooklyn today, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.  How many officers, I wonder, are in the system undercover?  Just about all I could find this morning in the way of police presence was this officer at left -- who saw me about to snap his picture and came walking towards me through the turnstyles.  Fortunately, he was just headed to the newsstand in the rear of the station and not to perform a Sean Penn on my new Treo...

Any problems with your commute this morning?  Let us know.

I work for PATH , over in Hoboken . Securtiy is a joke .
    A. There are no cops around . They are hiding out in their room .
     B. The security cameras always seem to pick me up drinking coffe on the platform or not wearing my hat , but dis not pick up the can collectors who pushed a shopping cart full of cans  through the hadicapped gate , without paying ,  towering 4 feet high with cans .  They then proceeded to board the train with this pile of shit .  I mean,  all the ragheads have to do is pack a huge bomb in a shopping cart and cover it with cans . No one will stop them .  This was at 830 AM . the middle of the rush hour . Why didn't I report it ?  Because I would be told there were no cops available , or it would have taken so long to get there , that the train would be at  9th St. Security , MY ASS !

I ride the 6 from 103rd to 23rd.  Got into 103 at about 8:15 this morning.  The was a cop standing by the ticket booth, but no tables set up, and I did not see him checking any bags or strollers in the couple minutes that I watched.  No evidence of any uniformed offices on the trip down either.  There were probably plain clothes, but the train was so packed they couldn't do much if they had needed to.
