     No Flight – Rest Day, Queenstown

As planned, we spent the entire day at the Warbirds Over Wanaka airshow about two hour drive outside Queenstown. The weather, though windy and cold, cooperated by not raining heavily – but even the chill could not detract from the awesome presence of the airshow. We spent the day browsing the tents and watching the performers. As a sponsor of the Air Race, we enjoyed a private tent there, which came in very handy when it did start to drizzle. At night, most of us traveled into downtown Queenstown to grab dinner and do some last minute shopping. One more day to go!
