editors, conventions, awards, oh my
Howdy everyone. Welcome to another Monday. Yep it's Monday again. Real excited about that. Really. LOL
There is lots going on in J-land these days. Guess you already know about them but I am going to remind you anyways.
Our beloved Joe (AOL Journals: Magic Smoke) is taking another position at AOL and will be leaving as editor. Don't worry though because he is leaving a great guy (Jeff) for his replacement. You may already know Jeff (AOL Journals: Pixel Pusher), he has done the "editor's pics" the last several weeks. I have emailed with him and he seems like a really cool person.
Next we have something going on that I think has been mentioned before (years back) but now someone is brave enough to try to make it a reality. A J-land Convention. Oh yeah!!!! Go and see if you are interested and maybe you will want to volunteer to help out. ---->>> J-Land Convention
Now the next reminder is the upcoming VIVI 2006 edition that is coming up. The VIVI awards are all taken care of by people here in J-land. NO ONE that WORKS for AOL is involved in anyway shape or form. You may see an AOL employee help promote the awards but that is all they are involved. **Right now they are in the nominating phase. I have been nominated before (but never won. boo hoo. LOL). So go find a category that sounds like me (best use of graphics, animated graphics, best journal, best she has no clue.....) and nominate me. I'm not proud. I know I won't win but I want to be nominated! Isn't that what they say? Just proud to be nominated? LOL
Ok, so don't nominate me, but participate in some shape or form ok? The more the word gets out and the more people that participate the better the awards will be. We need the nominees to come from all over J-land.
Guess that is enough for one entry. And speaking of graphics......I got a new little siggy tag. Hope you like it as much as I do (wish I could make these things but I can't):

****update. right now you are not "nominating" journals, you are recommending journals that may or may not be put up for nomination. Got it? You recommend journals. Later the nominations will come out for you to vote on who you want to win. (I get my wording tangled around one of the little wheels in my head and my fingers don't correct it when it comes out......LOL)

yes tons of stuff going on in j-land. It's going to be so hard to pick from all the great journals out there.
Happy that Jeff is a cool guy. Good for Joe for moving on.

There really is a lot going on in J-Land. I'm glad there will finally be a big convention in one place for everyone to attend at one time! The awards are coming along. Right now everyone is recommending/pimping journals for categories listed. The nominating will take place later on when the first poll opens.

yeah I wish I could have gone about a year and half or two agao when we had the J land convention it sounds like fun. But I ll only make it if its in ky since I cant travel far due to my legs and family constrainghts .
Im sorry to see Joe leave he always got back to me on questions . dont know Jeff but I ms ure he is good also
