Happy Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving Day is here. What am I grateful for? Plenty, actually. My crazy albeit loving family, our home, my friends, my health, even my job which I don't really like, but facilitates my lifestyle. I'm glad I can see the kids, hear them laugh, taste this yummy alcoholic beverage I'm currently sipping, smell the aromas escaping the kitchen, and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. I'm grateful hurricane season is almost over and for the presents I'm getting next week on my birthday (even if they don't include the iPod). I'm grateful for the likes of Susan B. Anthony, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Gandhi. I'm grateful for the challenges that help me grow and become stronger. I'm grateful to be part of the amazing human race (and it is amazing despite all the messing up). I feel grateful (and a little guilty) to be living in this country, in this day and age because I have it so easy.

You might have noticed that I haven't been blogging in a while. I've wanted to, but haven't been able to. For some yet unknown reason, I'm having trouble connecting to AOL. When I do get through, I can't seem to stay connected. I don't know what the problem is. I've tried everything (including the suggestions of AOL techs) and nothing has worked.

I've been using my sister's computer to go online long enough to check my email. The glitches on the Journals haven't quite been worked out yet so here I am using Internet Explorer to blog. Ridiculous. So while I'm grateful for those wonderful years with AOL, it doesn't look like I'll be sticking with the service come the new year.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. To be honest, I'm more grateful when it's over, as with any occasion that brings together so many family members.
