U.K Wins PartyPoker.com Nations Cup


Rolande de Wolfe Team Great Britain held their nerves till the end and won the party Poker's nations cup 2008. Nations Cup and overcame upstart Ireland in the heads-up finale of the prestigious poker tournament.

The team event featured line-ups from Germany, Holland, Sweden and the USA but no one could beat the England team which featured recent Irish Poker Open winner Neil Channing.

Online Gambling Grows In Germany.


Despite online gambling getting banned in Germany from Jan 1st of this year, the growth is still persisting. Even the world famous and former tennis player 'Boris Becker'  doing promotional activities for online gambling in Germany, he's become the spokesman in a high-profile ad campaign for a poker Web site. Its not Becker alone but the famous soccer player Bayer Leverkusen  has also done ads for an online poker company.

German is the only European country which holds majority of online gambling market share after Netherlands and Spain.

Bill To Ban Online Poker In Massachusetts State Was Defeated.


According to source:- Governor of Massachusetts  Deval Patrick  recently introduced a bill that banned all forms of online gambling like poker  and casino's and other online  betting games in the state.

When the bill was introduced in the house the committed disagreed with the bill and wasn't happy with the terms mentioned in the bill, one of the terms mentioned in the bill was "any one who plays online poker will be fined or even jailed for years" and other unacceptable terms which forced the committee to go against the bill.

On Wednesday, the House Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies voted 10-8 to reject the bill prior to sending it to the House floor, again on thursday the bill gained 106-48 votes in the house.

Party Poker has been getting major blows ever since they banned American from playing at their software, but they came back strong with both their revenues and profit from new emerging markets Germany and Netherlands.

Party Poker saw some improvements in their business but suddenly took a major blow again as their CEO Mitch Garber resigns from the company. Mitch Garber has contributed major role in the compny's growth in EU countries. The day when Mitch decides to leave the shares of party poker fell  as well the revenue.

It was a huge victory for Andy Black  in party poker's premier contest, with healthy prize money of  $250 000. Andy Black is one of the most reputed  poker player 's in the gaming industry with share talent and skills.

Nick Slades Wins European Open.


Nick Slade has won the party poker European tournament, held in London. It was a great come back from the poker professional after his wife and a water skiing accident which shattered its neck.

He further added that, it was very tough and exciting for him, to return the table as it was his biggest ever winning of his career, a $200,000 pay day.  "This is my biggest cash by quite some way, it's an amazing feeling," said Slade.
