A Slave To Sin

Sin takes you farther than you want to go

And keeps you longer than you ever wanted to stay ....

It`s Not Too Late!

No matter how hopeless you believe your life has become, it`s not too late!

God sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for your sins and mine. God will meet you right where you are. Don`t wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow could be too late.

If you died today, do you know where you would spend eternity?

You CAN know. Ask Jesus into your heart. Claim the victory of His blood that was shed over your life.

Hand over your troubles to Him. He promises that all things work together for good for those who love Him!

Honoring Good Friday

Jesus Dies on the Cross

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!”  Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink. The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.  Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying,

“Truly this was the Son of God!”

No Room In The Inn

In the Book of Luke, chapter 2, verses 4-7 it says this:

"Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is also called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his bethrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

This is the story that our Pastor talked about today in church. I`m giving a brief summary of what he said.

Joseph and Mary traveled - probably several days to be registered for the census, as Caesar Augustus decreed. Mary was was with child. Any woman who has carried a baby full term knows how uncomfortable and awkward a woman feels at this point, let alone having to travel by foot and by donkey to a town many miles away!

What relief it must have been when they reached the inn! They must have been looking forward to finding some comfort and some rest after their weary journey. But upon inquiring for a room, they were told there was no room in the Inn.

Perhaps the innkeeper could have spared them something. Who knows? When he saw Mary and noticed her condition, perhaps his heart could have been moved to offer her some sort of shelter. But he did not.

Have you made room in your heart for Jesus?

When Jesus speaks to you, do you listen? When those thoughts tug at you that you should go back to church.....should be more considerate to family members.....should give up something that you`re doing that you know is wrong.......

Salvation is a free gift. All you have to do is believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for your sins and rose on the third day to cleanse us from our sins. Claim this and prayerfully ask Jesus into your heart. Yes, it`s that easy!

Living for Christ may cost you some sacrifices, though. You may have to change the way you do business, may have to give up a friend or two who are not good for you. You might give up a form of recreation that you know you shouldn`t be doing...or change your lifestyle to reflect the new person in Christ that you are.

It`s not easy, but it`s always worth it!

Will you make room in your heart today for Jesus?

Praise God

I`m taking this from what my Pastor talked about in church tonight at our Thanksgiving dinner.

PRAISE GOD BECAUSE>>>>

He is powerful.

Nehemiah 1:10

Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by YOUR GREAT POWER, and by your strong hand.

He is righteous.

Daniel 9:14

... for the Lord our God is RIGHTEOUS in all the works which He does.....

He is able.

Ephesians 3:20

Now to Him who is ABLE to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think...

He is Infinite.

Romans chapter 11

Oh, the DEPTH of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

Of His strength.

2 Samuel 22:33

God is my STRENGTH and power, and He makes my way perfect.

He is everlasting.

Isaiah 40:28

Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The EVERLASTING God, the Lord,

The Creator of the ends of the earth,

Never faints nor is weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak,

And to those who have no might

He increases strength.

Forgiveness

Did you ever notice how hanging onto old hurts just ends up hurting you more and more? Long after someone has wronged you, they most likely have forgotten about it and moved on, while you are still replaying it in your mind. Or maybe you did something wrong and it just keeps eating at you over and over again.

Did you know that through Jesus you can be set free from this?

In Colossians 3:13 God tells us to forgive one another.....if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

I encourage you, if you are struggling with this issue, to go to the Lord in prayer. Give Jesus thanks for dying on the cross so that your sins can be forgiven. Ask Him to now help you to forgive others. Let it go! Give it to God! Cast that burden over to Him! He will take it from you. He wants you to be anxious for nothing.

Maybe it`s yourself that you can`t forgive. God knows that we have a sinful nature, that none of us are perfect. In Romans3:23 God`s Word tells us that All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It goes on to say that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Did you know that you don`t have to be some perfect model of a Christian to go to God in prayer? That you don`t have to live a sin free life before you feel worthy to step into a church? God will meet you right where you are!! He will take you as you are and work with you.

Pray to Him, cry out to Him, tell Him how you feel. Confess your own sins. Do your best to follow His Word. Forgive others in the name of Jesus. Forgive yourself because God sent Jesus to die for us while we were sinners.

I guarantee you your life will never be the same.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

             Galatians 5:1

Sinner`s Prayer

In writing this journal, I feel I would be remiss if I did not talk about The Sinner`s Prayer. All it is is a very simple prayer asking God into your life.

Salvation is a FREE gift!

There is nothing we have done to earn it.

I copied this information from

Question:  "What is the sinner's prayer?"

Answer:  The sinner's prayer is a prayer a person prays to God when they understand that they are a sinner and in need of a Savior. Saying a sinner's prayer will not accomplish anything on its own. A sinner's prayer is only effective if it genuinely represents what a person knows, understands, and believes about their sinfulness and need for salvation.

The first aspect of a sinner's prayer is understanding that we are all sinners. Romans 3:10 proclaims, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." The Bible makes it clear that we have all sinned. We are all sinners in need of mercy and forgiveness from God (Titus 3:5-7). Because of our sin, we deserve eternal punishment (Matthew 25:46). The sinner's prayer is a plea for grace instead of judgment. It is a request for mercy instead of wrath.

The second aspect of a sinner's prayer is knowing what God has done to remedy our lost and sinful condition. God took on flesh and became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14). Jesus taught us the truth about God and lived a perfectly righteous and sinless life (John 8:46; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus then died on the cross in our place, taking the punishment that we deserve (Romans 5:8). Jesus rose from the dead to prove His victory over sin, death, and hell (Colossians 2:15; 1 Corinthians chapter 15). Because of all of this, we can have our sins forgiven and be promised an eternal home in Heaven - if we will just place our faith in Jesus Christ. All we have to do is believe that He died in our place and rose from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). We can be saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8 declares, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

Saying the sinner's prayer is simply a way of declaring to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ as your Savior. There are no "magical" words that result in salvation. It is only faith in Jesus' death and resurrection that can save us. If you understand that you are a sinner and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ, here is a sinner's prayer you can pray to God:  "God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!"

All things work together for good

This is my journal for praise and worship.

It is my hope that you will stop by for a visit, relax, and be reminded that God really does love you.

I know that God`s Word never goes into void ( Isaiah 55:11 ) so it`s my prayer that some part of this will touch you and inspire you.

May you be filled with His Holy Spirit and learn to lean not on your own understanding, but to trust Jesus in all things.

You are worthy, O Lord,

To receive glory and honor and power;

For You created all things,

And by Your will they exist and were created.

               ~Rev 4:11
