Forgiveness
Did you ever notice how hanging onto old hurts just ends up hurting you more and more? Long after someone has wronged you, they most likely have forgotten about it and moved on, while you are still replaying it in your mind. Or maybe you did something wrong and it just keeps eating at you over and over again.
Did you know that through Jesus you can be set free from this?
In Colossians 3:13 God tells us to forgive one another.....if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
I encourage you, if you are struggling with this issue, to go to the Lord in prayer. Give Jesus thanks for dying on the cross so that your sins can be forgiven. Ask Him to now help you to forgive others. Let it go! Give it to God! Cast that burden over to Him! He will take it from you. He wants you to be anxious for nothing.
Maybe it`s yourself that you can`t forgive. God knows that we have a sinful nature, that none of us are perfect. In Romans3:23 God`s Word tells us that All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It goes on to say that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Did you know that you don`t have to be some perfect model of a Christian to go to God in prayer? That you don`t have to live a sin free life before you feel worthy to step into a church? God will meet you right where you are!! He will take you as you are and work with you.
Pray to Him, cry out to Him, tell Him how you feel. Confess your own sins. Do your best to follow His Word. Forgive others in the name of Jesus. Forgive yourself because God sent Jesus to die for us while we were sinners.
I guarantee you your life will never be the same.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Penny, this is a wonderful entry! Learning to forgive others and ourselves is the key to peace. It's very hard to do but you are so right, harboring bitterness does not hurt anyone but ourselves. Love, Chris

This was a great entry, really touched me, but not enough to make me let go of the hatred I harbor for one soul, I everyone deserves to be saved/forgiven it's just 1 person that I can't let back into my life, but believe me it is for the better, this person has even used the Church to get money for his drug addition. even though I will not forgive this person I still pray for him all the time and I still ask God to forgive me for my feelings towards that person, but won't ask for the strength to forgive him cause I guess I don't want to.
