MVC w/Entrapment


Thursday, November 29,2007, CFC was dispatched to Bear-Corbitt Rd. (SR 7) south of Pulaski Hiway (US 40) for a serious MVC with a subject trapped. A single vehicle accident, the lone passenger was extracated by E6-6, E3-5, BLS units B-6, A-12 and B-12. Delaware City Rescue 15 responded to assist with heay entrapment. CFC Fire Police, with DelDot crews, detoured traffic.

Delaware State Police are investigating.

MVC w/Rollover


At 1138 hours, Saturday, May 12, CFC was dispatched to a multi-vehicle MVC with an overturned truck, on Pulaski Highway (US40) at Wrangle Hill Road (SR72).CFC BLS A12 and B12 responded, along with New Castle County Medic 9. One patient was transported. R3 and E66 responde for a diesel fuel leakage from the dump truck. A total of 5 vehicles were involved.

CFC Fire Police, assisted by Aetna HH&L (Sta 7-8-9) Fire Police and DelDOT had Pulaski Hwy eastbound shut down for about 2 1/2 hours for cleanup.

Delaware State Police are investigating.

MVC w/Ejection


At 1523 hours, Monday, May 7, 2007, CFC was dispatched for an MVC with ejections on Christiana Road (SR273) near Harmony Road. CFC BLS B12 arrived, reporting 2 subjects ejected, requesting additional BLS and ALS units. A total of 4 patients were transported. CFC R3 and E66 responded. CFC and Mill Creek (Sta 2 & 21) Fire Police assisted with road closures and traffic control.

Delaware State Police are investigating.

MVC


At 0323 hours, Sunday, May 6, 2007, CFC was dispatched to the area of Cedar Pointe Townhomes for an MVC, with vehicle reported on fire. At 0324, the alarm was redispatched, with a repoted subject trapped, adding Wilmington Manor (Sta 28 & 32) for an engine.Upon arrival, R3 and 128B (Assistant Chief Ingram) reported no fire and no entrapment. No patients were located in the area.  All units were clear by 0415.

New Castle County Police are investigating.

MVC


Sunday, April 29, 2007, CFC was dispatched for a single vehicle MVC on Christiana Road (SR273) at Old Baltimore Pike. The vehicle, while apparently traveling east, crossed the median, struck a road sign, and went down a small embankment. CFC BLS A-12 transported one patient. Fire Police stood by until the vehicle was removed.

Delaware State Police are investigating.

Fatal MVC


Saturday, April 7, 2007, at approximately 0221 hours, CFC was dispatched for a single vehicle MVC on Porter Road near Old Porter Road. CFC BLS B3 arrived on scene, reporting CPR in progress. E35 and R3 responded for extrication. NCC Medics evaluated the male patient, and transported. The patient was pronounced at Christiana Hospital. CFC and Delaware City (Sta 15) Fire Police assisted with the road closure. CSX Railroad arrived on scene to manually operate the closing gate until it could be repaired.

Delaware State police are investigating.

Garage Fire


On Monday, April 2, 2007, CFC was dispatched for a garage fire in Hillside Heights. Delaware City 15C3 was first on scene, reporting a detached garage involved, with extension to 2 structures. CFC E12-5 arrived, laid a 5" supply line, and initiated an aggressive attack.

Assisting CFC were Aetna HH&L (Sta 7-8-9-10), Delaware City (Sta 15), Mill Creek (Sta 2-21), Five Points (Sta 17), and Minquas (Sta 23) Fire Companies.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating.

MVC w/Rollover


On Wenesday, March 28, 2007, CFC was dispatched for a rollover MVC on Pulaski Hiway (US 40) in front of Just Muggs Saloon. CFC BLS A12 arrived on scene, reporting no patient in the area. R3 cleaned up a small liquid spill; CFC Fire Police assisted Delaware State Police with traffic control.

House Fire


On Friday, March 27, 2007, CFC, with Aetna HH&L, Delaware City, Minquas, Mill Creek Fire Co's., was dispatched to a reported working structure fire in Salem Woods. EMS Deputy 12 (Hank Smith) was first on scene, reporting the rear of the residence well off. Multiple supply line were laid. The first interior crew reported a partial floor collapse; the IC ordered an exterior operation. Crews were on scene until 2000 hrs for overhaul. There were no reported injuries. The Delaware State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating.
