Since I shared a photograph of Amelia in the previous entry it's only fair that today I give Cecilia her day to shine! :-)

This little one knows the secret of happiness ... she is ALWAYS smiling and cooing. I NEED a grandma fix again SOON! :-)
** Sorry about the alerts - I was having problems with the photo and sizing. It's all taken care of now! :-)

I found this photograph from our first visit to Amelia when she was a couple of months old. This is her Uncle Ryan who is totally infatuated with her.

Once again we have Amelia - two years later with her silly Uncle Ryan.
I have to share a quick story here. Ryan had been out to sea before our visit, and he hadn't seen the girls in over a month. He arrived the day after we did and it was so cute to see Amelia when she first saw her Uncle "Ewwwwwwwww". She ran and jumped into his arms.
** I guess I should explain the Uncle Ewwwwwwwwww? LOL, it seems one day his wife was mad at him and kept telling Amelia that he was Ewwwwwww and somehow that stuck and Amelia now calls him Uncle Ewwwwwwwww. LOL What a name to have!

Okay, I just found this in a file from my most recent wedding. We didn't have a deadhead but a diaper head! How could I NOT share this adorable little diaper head! I think it can be another 'D' photo for the A-Z photo challenge! What do you think?
I wonder, was daddy drunk when he diapered the baby? LOL

Today Sonny and I met a family at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. It's one of our favorite places to go for portrait sessions as you get a bit of everything: A grassy park, pretty trees, colorful flowers, a pond with Koi, ducks & turtles, forest, rose gardens, a Japanese garden, the waterfront, an old fort and some really old trains at a logging museum. How can you miss with all that?
The shoot today was a free session provided through Operation: Love Reunited. If you know someone in the military who have been deployed, about to deploy or about to return home, have them check this service out! Just click the link above.
Anyway, while we at the park photographing the family we saw bunnies, ducklings and turtles ... Oh MY!
I was surprised how close the bunny let me approach. Right after I took this photo he/she went back to eating grass. I was just a foot away at most. :-)
Below is a bully seagull who didn't want the turtles on HIS rock. The seagull was poking at the turtles one by one until they jumped off HIS rock.

Subject: DC ~ Capitol Building

Time to share a few more photos from our trip to DC. It's been a slow process going through the photos of DC and the granddaughters. The reason, work related photos have to come first and it seems I've had little time for anything else.
Most of our photos are of the US Capitol building as our hotel was only a block and a half from it. Besides most everything we had been looking forward to visiting was closed for renovation! As I mentioned in my 'chatty' journal, the DC portion of the trip was a bit disappointing. Luckily that wasn't the focus of our trip! :-)

Today is Friday and Martha has Freaky Friday, Friday Favorite ... photo today. I decided I wanted to play along. However my Friday Favorite (or was it going to be Freaky Friday photo?) is the same photo I wanted to use for the A-Z photo challenge which is the letter 'D'. That is how we got Double Duty with this entry - it's falling into two categories!
Meet 'Jack' ... yes, that's his name. Not the guy but, the Jack A*$ or AKA Donkey.

Subject: Landscapes in Black & White

When I think of black and white landscapes I think Ansel Adams. When I look at his work, I'm inspired and yes, I'll admit to being intimidated. His photographs are always moving and stir the soul within.
With the wedding photography, I strive to capture the emotion of the day. That I can do! With landscapes, I struggle to capture the essence, especially in black and white. Despite the difficulty of this challenge for me, I decided to try. Here is my attempt at landscapes in black and white in the for fun category.
What is the saying? "You can't see the forest for the trees."

In the previous entry I featured sweet Amelia, my oldest granddaughter. Today, it's only fair that I show off precious Cecilia who is 6 months old. This little girl is always happy! She must know something really good. She talks and coos and smiles brightly at you. How I miss this little one!
** I suppose I could've used this as a 'C' picture too for the A-Z photo challenge! :-)

Subject: See what I C?

I was debating on two photos for Martha's A-Z photo challenge, the letter at this time is 'C'. One of the considered photos is just silly fun the other in my humble opinion is innocent and charming. I'll share both for this particular challenge.
This is my oldest granddaughter, Amelia. She was laying down on the grass staring at the clouds in the sky. Each time I look at this photo I just fall deeper in love with her! She is such a beauty inside and out.
Charming Child
This next photo is actually from my archives and it's none other than Cola Cat in search of the missing cola!
Earlier today I started to write an entry for this journal. However, it got long winded and I decided it had to go to the chatty journal. Essentially, I wanted tothank Betty for the nod in the Magic Smoke journal where she is the guest editor. IF anyone is interested in HOW I got into photography you can read the entry over at Midnight Conversations.

Subject: Spring

IF I had been thinking properly I would've checked out the photo challenges before I posted any photographs. Because IF I had done that, I'd have shared the photo in the previous entry for Krissy's J-Land Photo Shoot because the subject this week is spring. The picture below (previous entry) would've been a good choice with the beautiful spring tulips and the bird.
Well, when people think of spring in DC they think cherry blossoms! Just as I did. Most were already out of bloom, there were a few pink blossom trees still in bloom, the white blossom trees were pretty much void of blossoms. So this makes a good photo for the spring entry, it's one of the few trees that still had some blossoms. I truly enjoyed the weather and the beautiful colors around DC in April.
If you are interested in joining Krissy's J-land photo shoot, you can play along by clicking here - > J-land Photo Shoot. Also, if you like getting out with your camera, my "Every Picture Tells a Story" will resume this week - it's not a contest, it's just for fun so, please play along with us!
