Pictures of the Week: March 29-April 4

A blood trail from a harp seal leads to a small boat where sealer hunters are loading carcasses from an ice floe off the coast of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, March 31.
This image is mostly made up of three colors: black, white and red. These three colors work together to convey a powerful image. The red boat against the black water appears menacing as it lurks in wait. The red trail of blood against the white ice provides us with a stark visual sense of the suffering inflicted by the brutality of the hunt.
Fortunately, not all of this week's Pictures of the Week are as stark or as brutal, but they still tell the story. Please take a look and vote for the most compelling image.

the work manship of the picture is beautiful. the thought behind it is very sad because it shows us the realness of this system we live in. not even the farest parts of the world are not safe from man.
the photographer who took this picture i have to say hand off to you. it takes a great deal of love for GODs creation to try to get people to open their eyes to this system that we need to know about.

I think including this picture is disgusting.

What awful people to get the seals when they are stranded like that. Helen

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE SEALS is similar to the WHALE HARVEST, EXCEPT THIS IS ON A LARGER SCALE. KILLING HELPLESS ANIMALS IS PROOF THAT SOME HUMANS HAVE HEARTS AND MINDS THAT WERE NEVER TOUCHED BY LOVE AND RESPECT. SHOULD WE PRAY FOR THESE PEOPLE? YES, WE SHOULD PRAY THAT CIRCUMSTANCES WILL EVOLVE THAT WILL RENDER THEM UNABLE TO HUNT AND KILL AGAIN.
THOSE WHO HUNT FOR SURVIVAL OF FAMILY AND SELF ARE EXEMPT FROM MY CRITICISM AND NOT SUBJECTS OF MY PRAYERS.
