Bad TV?

Play along with John!

Weekend Assignment #167: You watched some bad TV as a kid. Tell us your favorites. Now, this doesn't mean you realized at the time it was bad. Just now, in the fullness of time, you recognized that your viewing choices left something to be desired. For the purposes of this assignment, try to stick with shows that were aimed at kids, although if you can't think of any, prime time shows are okay as well.

Extra Credit: How much TV did you watch when you were a kid? A lot? A little?

Gosh, there was SO much bad TV on when I was young that it is HARD to choose.  There were a lot that I still love, so I guess I couldn't consider them "bad" TV.  That list would include Magnum P.I., Battlestar Galactica, Mork & Mindy, Quincy, Hart to Hart, Remington Steele....gosh I love TV _ LOL.  Oh, and what about Hill Street Blues!  I guess that means I watched a lot of TV as a kid.  The TV is still on a lot at my house, but I have to say I think it's because I'm used to having background noise.  I can't think of much that I really "watch" anymore.

Bad TV though, if you ever repeat this I might have to hurt you, I LOVED the Love Boat!

It's sad, I know, and while I'm at it let's admit here and now that I LOVED Fantasy Island. But, tv shows that were aimed at kids?  I always loved Speed Racer and Scooby Doo AND Super Friends!  But honestly, can you consider any of those bad?!

I can't think of 2 things worse from the 80's!

But, while I'm at it I'd like to just take a moment to echo John's sentiments and say that as bad it was back then, at least it's better than American Idol!

    Don't feel bad, Kell.
I watched every single one of those shows, including The Love Boat, and (omg, I can't believe I am admitting this in a public forum) Fantasy Island.  Don't forget "Charlie's Angels" and a telenovela or two.  LOL

    I'm still a TV addict.

I guess I'll date myself.  Ugh, I liked the Love Boat and Fantasy Island too.  Just the thought of it now scares me, LOL.

I was a total Love Boat junkie. And Fantasy Island, too. "Smiless, everyone, smiless!"
I can't believe I ever thought the original Battlestar Galactica was any good. But I watched it religiously. The new one, however, is absolutely fantastic, and I never watch it. Go figure.

OH Yummy Tom Selleck...nothing could unclue me for the tv on Thursday nights! HA! See I still remember. I remember the first commercial I saw for the show...I was in heaven & wanted to live in Hawaii! HA! I still ooze when I see him! And oh man him in that white uniform! Where is the emergency defibilators!

Now Remington Steele I was not too much into but man has that man just gotten hotter as he has gotten older...YUM! I still like him as Bond! The new one is ok?

I like Mork & Mindy too. Robin is a genuis. Oh & HSB...."Pizza Man!" What happened to all of them. They should have done other things. Hart to Hart I was not big into but the woman who was later on Raymond...she is a hoot. I think she made the show & without her it would not be as good...speaking of hoot & helping the show but maybe later...Moonlighting! The secretary was great! I miss that banter!

Love Boat depended who was on but it was good but I was not as big into Fantasy Island. You know Speed Racer came on a number of years ago & I was like "What" I would hate my niece hearing she couldn't do something because she was girl..granted she always did so that was a good message but still no wonder we older women still have problems. Thank God for the 4 women in the Indy now!

I remember Thundercats when I was a kid. That was kind of silly. No one can ever say that Knight Rider was bad. I thought it was cool.
