MKULTRA, APA and it's Psychological Torture

Hopeful | by Paul J. Norton

Coalition of Psychologists Push for Emergency Reform of APA

A coalition of psychologists are pushing from emergency reform of the American Psychological Association which is overseen by the NSA in terms of policies. The coalition for reform are very concerned that the APA haven't condemned the practice of torture or denounced those psychologists who have played a role in it.

All of this reeks of MKULTRA to this blogger. For those of us who have spent any time researching MKULTRA it's well known that one of their earliest primary goals was to find a truth serum that worked, which led to experimentation with LSD as a possibility. I have little doubt, knowing all that I know, that the whole program of torture was initiated by MKULTRA and supported by operatives such as Cheney and Bush.

From the article:

"The article also makes clear that the sometimes misplaced prestige of psychology as a science and the importance of the supposed "scientific credentials" of the SERE psychologists were crucial to the acceptance of these abusive techniques by general interrogation staff and superiors alike. The article additionally reports that the APA supported the claim that Mitchell and Jessen had specialized scientific knowledge by inviting them to a joint APA-Rand Corporation, CIA-funded conference on the "Science of Deception: Integration of Practice and Theory." This conference debated "the effectiveness of truth serum and other coercive techniques," according to Vanity Fair."
