Monday Morning Question

Picture from Hometown

Hello again!

Charley over at Courage has a query...

Here's your Monday Morning Question!:

What movie have you seen recently that you consider to be one of the greatest of all time?

Huh.  The 'recently' has really had me thinking.

I would say 'Gladiator', which I know that some would say is not that recent.   However, when I think 'greatest of all time' it is the only film that comes to mind.  It is such a sweeping period epic, with such fabulous acting, and yet , there is a sense of timelessness to the emotion and message throughout the film.

So, there is my humble opinion.

What's yours?

be well,
Dawn

OK, now I'm going to have to pull out Gladiator and watch it again. My wife and I used to watch it every couple of weeks, but we haven't looked at it in a while. I'll put it in the queue right behind The Matrix.

OK, LOVED GLADIATOR...loved that....I went and saw Stomp the Ground and Arthur & the invincibles....BOTH are amazing...Everyone in the audienced actually clapped at the end of Stomp the Ground...it was that good..should get an Oscar..I thought it would be some gang movie but the message was profound...and Arthur and the invincibles was pure magic....most kids movies arent that entertaining...but I wanted to jump into this film and live there...~Raven

Oh yeah...  I'm sure that's what you thought when you watched Gladiator.  That's like me reading Playboy for the great writing and amazing articles.  :)

Now, I don't know if this should be considered "The greatest of all time," but one of the movies I saw recently was Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and the cinematography alone was outstanding.  Acting, plot and theme-wise it stunk, but that whole art-deco throwback really was something neat to see.

I still love the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Yes I know I am outdated lol.  But the books have been my very favorites for thirty-five years and they did those movies well!
    loving you
