Feeling Frustrated
Hearing Paul Simon taunts me after 45 minutes to finally get the pics to upload from the camera...

Kodachrome

Okay, so not only are my pictures quite blurry and I don't know why, but the captions aren't showing either!  ARRRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

(AND, now the captions ARE showing... makes you want to bang your head on a wall...)

So, here are the captions for you, and I apologize for the blurriness.

1 - Hammer getting his promotion to 2nd Class Scout and getting badges he earned.  The Scoutmaster also talked about his determination in signing up for 6 classes to earn 6 badges at the week long camp in July.

I am very proud of Hammer, for someone who was only doing a 'trial run' of Scouts, he is doing wonderful!

2 - Fuzzy getting his promotion to 2nd Class Scout and getting his badges.  The Scoutmaster also congratulated him on being the first Den Chief in ten years, and on how well he has been being the liason between the Webelos and the Scouts.

3 - Hubby is on the far left!  He and his cohorts in crime are the latest to complete their official Assistant Scoutmaster training and were receiving a round of applause.

It was a very nice evening.  Many boys received honors and it is great for the younger boys, especially, to see what CAN be earned with some determination and work.

One boy received a very special bravery medal, because back in November he ran into a house where he saw smoke billowing out and heard screams for help.  He led the occupants out of the house, safely, at age 15, with no help, no equipment, when they were too confused from the smoke to find their way out!!!   Amazing, huh?  A turkey had been left unattended in a gas oven and it caught fire and filled the house with smoke in a very, very short time!

His mom was just beaming with joy and pride... wow!

The next Scout trip is coming up on the 23rd and is open to families.  They are going out to a mine inwestern New Jersey!  There are a few out there, but our Scoutmaster is friends with the owner of this one, andit sounds like a special trip.

Pumpkin has already decided she wants to go, and my dad might, also.

Then, before you know it, it will be time for the week long camping trip in mid-July!

Hammer also plans on doing the Nuclear Science badge this summer as soon as they find a certified leader to work with him for the badge!

I am so proud of him.  He needs to step it up because he will be 15 in August and is a latecomer to Scouts.  He is very determined to do his Eagle Scout though!  Yay!

Okay, enough of me rambling on about the kids... for now.

Stay tuned, Pumpkins Dance Recital is on Sunday!!!  LOL

be well,
Dawn

Camping in July?? Eeeesh!  Make sure they take plenty of bug spray....the really powerful kind.  Ticks and mosquitoes are carrying some nasty bacteria/viruses these days.

    Hug,
    Russ

My husband was an assistant scout leader when I met him. While we were dating, I saw him in that uniform with the shorts and laughed my fool head off. Good thing he has a sense of humor...he didn't dump me.
The trip to the mine sounds cool! --Cin
