Hilight: Prothonotary Warblers ( 2), Summer Tanager, Kentucky Warbler,Yellow-breasted Chat,Hooded Warbler

From Metrobirds  and Ebirds Listserves:

All,

Apparently, many more birds have arrived in Prospect Park overnight. I just received a call from Scott Whittle, who is in the park. A Kentucky Warbler has been found, as well as, two Prothonotary Warblers. The 2 Prothonotary Warblers are feeding along the Lullwater near a wooden overlook with benches at a small cove a short distance south of the Audubon Nature Center. The Kentucky Warbler was feeding near the park benches adjacent to Prospect Lake's West Island. Here is a link to a Google Earth map with exact locations noted:

Unfortunately, I'll just have to experience this morning's birds vicariously. :-(

Good birding,

Rob

Ed Crowne originally found two Prothonotary Warblerstogether feeding in the Red Maple tree next to the shore  down the trail from the North ( Nethermead side) Lullwater cove viewing platform. The Red Maple is prominently seen from the Rustic Arbor on the other side of the Lullwater and is between a wire fence and the shore. One PRWA was still feeding in the tree as of 12:40 pm.

Ed also heard and saw Kentucky Warbler in the brushy area adjoining the Concentric benches opposite West Island earlier that morning. bet 6 and 8 am.
