Possum's Back !
This cat's back and in the mood for fun. I haven't been posting very often on this site, but now that I've got DSL, I'll be posting more frequently. In the interim, here's some pics I found recently that you may enjoy.

It's a short post, but I'm having hairball issues.

Hearing CNN News
Fridays at Jimmy's AREA 51
The Karaoke show at Lakes Cafe and Pub was hosted by my pal. Gipsy and the place was packed. There were a lot of good singers there and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Gipsy will be hosting the show again this evening and if last night's show was an indication, tonight's show should be great.
Pictures: I received some neat photographs of a kitten and a parakeet who seem to be pals. I think the parakeet looks like brunch, personally, but if the kitten needs a friend that bad, I guess I can live with it.
My owner, Jimmy, has been busy with his journal, so mine doesn't get that much attention. If for some stupid reason you want to read his journal here's the link:
http://journals.aol.com/jimsulliv3/jimmys-journal/
Personally, I think my journal's better than his, but he spends more time on his. so....
I found some kitty jokes you might like.
You know you're a cat person when...
...you refer to going to the bathroom as "using the litter box."
...you do not consider an outfit complete without some cat hair.
...you consider cat hair in your food as extra fiber.
...you apologize when you step on a fuzzy cat toy in the dark.
...you snap your fingers and pat the sofa beside you to invite your guests to sit down.
...you sleep on one edge of the bed because the cat is sleeping in the middle looking soooo cute!
...you accidentally put your child's dinner plate on the floor.
...you spend more money on toys for your cats than on the kids or grandkids.
...you decorate your Christmas tree with dangly cat toys.
...your neighbors refer to you as "the crazy one with all the cats."
...you have more pictures of your cats than your kids in your wallet.
...you refer to your cat as your furry child.
...your parents wind up with a four-footed, furry "grandchild."
...you plan your vacation around the cat show schedule.
...you accidentally call your spouse by your cat's name!
That's it for now. More soon.

The CAT Awards Have Been Posted !
Yeah, I'm still here, huffing and a puffing, trying to keep up with you know who. As soon as I get DSL, I'll be making more entries, but right now, the little rat that makes my computer function is not turning the wheel fast enough. I'd eat his little ass normally, but he tries so hard, I'll just let him hang out with me when we get DSL.
The winner of the Cat's Ass Trophy hosted and sponsored by Jimmy (my dad) and myself is CNN and Rush Limbaugh. Both of these two entities are well deserving of the award. Although Jimmy may state otherwise, he relies heavily on my input and would be completely useless without me. If you have to (ugh), you can read his crummy little journal using the following link:
http://journals.aol.com/jimsulliv3/jimmys-journal/
The Pictures: By the way, he uses my format quite often, but you need to know it was I, not Jimmy, who came up with the idea. The only thing Jimmy is good for is for is typing. I have seven toes on each front paw and typing is not my forte. I can kick the shit out of a chihuahua, though ! Oh, yeah the pictures....I put some in. Big deal !
Birthdays: None that I know of, but who'd want to be born today, anyway.
That's it for now. More soon !

Presidential Elections: Chosing The Better Of A Paltry Lot !
The primary races are everywhere and soon it will be time to take things seriously. After super Tuesday, February 5th, well start to see who's still in the running and how many wannabee, time wasting, egotists are eliminated. My choices are still the same for the nominees, Hillary Clinton as the democratic nominee and John McCain as the republican nominee.
Mitt Romney is more concerned with how he looks than what he's putting on the table. He flip-flops on every subject depending whose vote is is pandering.
Rudy Giuliani is coming on as Mr. 9-11, and I give him credit for that date. Unfortunately, he is a self-absorbed, arrogant individual whose total platform consists of a noun, a verb and 9-11.
On the democratic side we have Barack Hussein Obama, a wet behind the ears, first term senator, whose election win for senator in Illinois was highly due to the scandal and misdeeds of his opponents. The public chose the better of two poor candidates. Arrogance will be Obama's downfall and seasoning will possibly make him a nominee in the future.
I like John Edwards, but I feel he's too politically weak to carry the national vote.
The balance of the candidates would be better off wasting their own time and money instead of the public assets.

It's Getting To Be Time To Thin The Herd !
It seems that every time you pick up a newspaper or watch the news, one of life's errors kills or robs someone. It's become a regular item each and every day. When they finally catch and even occasionally terminate these scumbags, every organization in town comes up crying "police brutality" and all of the usual reasons to cry foul. It seems that the few are beginning to dictate to the many and that's a sad state of affairs.
One would think that people would abide by the laws of the land or at least subscribe to the ten commandments or a reasonable facsimile. Perhaps, if these things were taught an an early age, the end result would be better. In an environment where the father actually stays with the family, instead of planting seeds and then abandoning the crop, the family base would be strengthened and inturn, the children would grow up with more family values and less street values.
Well, it's nearing the time to start standing up for the masses and start punishing people for their errors and transgressions. I, personally, don't care how your parents treated you or how you led a sad life. If you are alive and over the age of eighteen, then you pay the price prescribed by law and hopefully, you learn your lesson and return to society. If not, then remain incarcerated for as long as it takes.
Moreover, if you take a life, you pay for it with your life. When society has to cower to thugs running amok, robbing, looting and killing, then it's time to thin the herd. The time will come when society will finally stand up and strike swiftly. Chaos, likely, will ensue for a brief time until the underworld and the dregs of society come to realize that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Life can be difficult in and of itself without having to run the gauntlet every day. Let's hope that one day, prior to thinning the herd, the herd itself will come to its senses, stop the stampede and live in harmony with the planet. Then again, maybe not !
That's it for now. More soon.

Life In The Fast Lane: Barack Obama - Too Much, Too Soon !
I'm constantly amazed at the brazeness that some people have when the assert themselves into the spotlight. The number one phenemenon is Barack Obama, a wet behind the ears, first term black senator, who was elected to office when a political scandal hit Illinois and the fed up and disgusted public would have elected Fred Flinstone.
My problem with Obama is that he seems to assume that charm and charisma, sans knowledge and experience, will get him elected to office. The reality of it all is that, in lieu of learning how to perform his current job and gain the experience to possibly run the greatest country in the world, he is amassing a small fortune to put his name in the public eye, knowing full well that he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of gaining the democratic nomination.
This is referred to as "positioning" and I guarantee his thoughts are focused on the election that will take place eight years down the road. It's an unfortunate waste of money at a time where there could be more qualified democrats in the race and could make things a lot more interesting. Shamefully struting like a bantum rooster will possible be his future downfall later on in his political career, after the public finds out who the real Oback Obama really is. Time will tell !
That's it for now. More soon.

Hearing "Family Tradition" Hank Willams Jr **** CD
Hello, It's Me again ! Not Bad, How 'Bout You?
Yeah, it's been a while, but I'm still here ! I haven't spent too much time on the journal lately, but I thought I'd stop in to chat a while. There's been a lot happening lately with the trapped miners being a story of major concern. I'm not really very learned when it comes to mining, but over the years, from what I have ascertained, the mine owners could give a damn about their employees.
Evidently, the pay is pretty good and it forces people to risk their lives on a daily basis to feed and clothe their families. Assuming you're not killed or maimed in this line of work, the exposure and black lung disease take's it toll over a period of years.
You'd think that the mine owners would at least come up to an up to date method of extracting trapped miners. It amazes me that we can put a man on the moon, track and photograph people using GPS and satellites, yet they can't locate or extract trapped miners. Priorities are not in order !
China's at it again, not only with tainted food and pet products, and lead based paint, but the newest and potentially super dangerous bogus medical products. They have found that a company in China is manufacturing and marketing diabetes testing strips that give bogus or incorrect readings. This potentially lethal for people who rely on these products. Even worse, the same company is manufacturing and selling preganancy tests, AIDS tests and other sexually transmitted disease tests.
Although the owner of the company is in jail now, in China, the Chinese government needs a strong message that this will stop or face extreme consequences. The American public can also send a message by refusing to use or purchase anything from China. With income loss, you'll see a whole new dog and pony show !
Michael Vick's boat is sinking as two more of the moronic co-defendants in the animal abuse and dog fighting case have agreed to testify againsy him. In packs, their tough, but one on one they turn and run or turnagainst each other like animals. Couldn't happen to a nicer group. Maybe they should be put in cages to fight against each other like they did to their dogs.
Hersheys Chocolate is moving their operations to Mexico. I like their chocolate, but now they can sell it to the Mexicans, 'cause I won't buy it ! Maybe if enough companies move to Mexico, the illegal aliens will start moving back to get jobs.
That's in for now, my friends. More soon !

Feeling Angry
Hearing CNN
The Ernest Hemingway Cats Are In Peril !
The federal government is attempting in every possible way to make the nine lives of the "Hemingway Cats" miserable in Key West, Florida ! The Hemingway House, besides displaying memorabilia of the late and great author, is the home of the "Hemingway Cats", a group of six and seven toed cats who are descendants and relatives of a cat once owned by Hemingway. They are allowed to roam free on the large, open site and are beloved by locals and tourists alike.
The feds, who suck at stopping illegal aliens, their drugs, products and byproducts have decided that the cats are not legally on the site and should be removed. Over $250,000 has been raised and spent by the City of Key West and various other groups to insure that the cats remain on the property.
The brazen audacity of the U.S. government, who cannot seem to get their priorities in order, simply amazes me. It is my country and my government, right or wrong, but there's something terribly wrong with this picture. I am going to make a comment at my Dad's journal and nominated the feds for this weeks Cat's Ass Trophy. There are several nominees but I'm adding the feds for their obnoxious stupidity.
I, having seven toes myself, feel that these cats (pun intended) are my relatives and I'm pissed off ! If you get a chance, stop by Dad's Journal (It's Called Jimmy's Journal) and sound off. The address is located on the left side of my journal. Just click it and it will take you directly there.
That's it for now. More soon.

Hearing CNN - Anderson Cooper 360
I Have Returned !
I'm back in the saddle, prepared for action ! I've been spending a lot of time with a few ventures and keeping my other journal up to date. The AOL picture fiasco has been repaired and is bigger and better than ever. A million thanks to AOL journals editor Joe Loong and the "California Team" ! Joe worked very hard and had to put up with countless complaints and suggestings and he weathered the storm admirably.
Me? I'm doing fine (as far as I know). Things are good and Jimmy's Journal is running well. I haven't attended to this journal as much as I should lately as this journal is where I hide when I really want to play. But, here I am and here I go.
I've been watching the United States Congress and their 30,000+ earmarks (monies tacked on to and hidden in proposed bills, with these tax monies slated to be spent on some useless project, usually in the congressman's home area). These earmarks are supposed to be transparent, i.e., you have to sign your name to the earmarks and declare so before the bill passes. A lot of politicians have been contacted by the media and asked for a list of each representative's earmarks and their responses have been silence, no returned calls and stonewalling.
Combine this with a less than 20% confidence vote of the American public and you have an enormous amount of useless congressional flesh who are leading this country down the porcelain receptacle. The useless illegal alien law, which is useless from the get-go, does not address the real problem.
The real problem is not the 20 million plus undocumented aliens in this country (yeah, I know they say less, but people in the know are very aware that their figure is low). What do do with them is not important until you build a wall and enforce the borders. Once the whole is plugged you can start to bail the water.
I see no reason, however, to give amnesty to these people. There are too many people waiting for citizenship who have gone about it in a proper, legal manner. Illegals to the rear of the line!
The next step would be to speed up the antiquated method of processing these people who have been waiting in line for years. I think its time for the politicians to try a new method of addressing these problems. It's called common sense !
Bottom line? What do you call 1,000 attorneys and 1,000 politicians at the bottom of the ocean? A Good Start ! That's it for now.... Time to get off the soapbox.
