Decision making time
I have a question that I would like help from my readers to answer. I am currently in the early decision stage of what I hope to be a huge change here at Four Forty-Six Photography. For the past several months I have been toying with the idea of upgrading some or all of my equipment. The time is now here to make some choices. I have already decided on my camera system....Think Canon "L" optics here. The next step is going to be the work station. It is time I put this poor Dell out of its misery seeing as how it is almost seven years old now and out of room. In addition to the computer, I will be upgrading the printer to a large format printer. Here is where I need your help. There are several printers that have my eye, but they all have different maximum output sizes. I would like to know what size you think would be most desirable in your home?
Of course, we are talking maximum print size here which still leaves all the smaller print sizes as options. I just don't want to overshoot the goal here and never have a need for the large size. Please vote below on what size you would like in your home. If you would like to comment, I would be interested in hearing what you have to say.
Note: sizes below are just for print size. Customarily these prints would be matted within the frame so the framed size would be much larger.
Another note: The costs of these printers have a rather large bearing on my choice. The smaller print size can be handled by a $300 printer while the midrange print will be done with a $1600 printer. The largest Would be done on a 24" large format printer that goes for around $14,000.

I agree with Bea. How exciting getting all new equipment. Good luck with your new venture.

My husband always says with things like this, just get what you want. Don't try to get by with something less than adequate. So I say, go for it all and get the big one? I don't know anything about printers, but if your going to spend the money anyway, get the best.

I think the max size for me would be the 16 X 20. Hope that helps. But then, I have small-ish rooms so I don't but too large anything in them. LOL

Sounds as if you are getting more into your photo work. I agree with some of the others. Go with a printer that can do larger printing since you can always reduce the size if you wish to. Good luck on fining what you would like to have. Helen
