Making Shirts

The time has come to replace my aging logo shirts that I wear when I am out on a Trek.  I could have just recreated the same shirts, but what fun is that.  Instead, I have redesigned them completely.  Starting with the pocket detail on the front.  I have now incorporated my tripod/red line motif that is found on my business cards.  On the back, instead of the former waterfall in the lens logo, I have decided to go with a small version of one of my photographs.  I have also changed the text to read "Ask me about your new wall art", followed by the gallery name, red line, and the actual web address.  At the current time, I am rotating between five images so each shirt is a bit different.

It is always a great conversation starter when I am out in the field and run up on somebody.  They see the gear, they see the shirt, and then they ask about my photography.  After a brief conversation, I give them a business card or two and invite them to view my gallery to see the results of the day's shoot.

For those wondering, I do the shirts at home with transfer paper.  It is not quite a durable as screen printing, but my previous shirts have lasted well over a year with lots of use and washings.  They are pretty easy to do, and don't really take that much time.  I've even made a keyboard dust cover from some scrap fabric that I sewed into a fitted cover (Yes, big bad cop sews too) with my logo appearing in the center.
