This one, another study in contrasts, gives me an excuse to show you some pictures I took today:
New Monday Photo Shoot #11: Take a picture of something far away - but include something much closer in the same shot.
Leaf Covered Ledges
This actually classifies as "far and near" even though there is not a huge distinction between the distances. if you look along the right side of the frame, I have used a spring fern in the foreground for an anchor to this shot, while the main subject of the picture is the waterfall which is 75-100 feet away from the camera's location.
For those that are interested, this is Dugger's Creek Falls, which is located in the Linville Falls Park. It is an easy, not to mention very short hike from the parking are. This is one of my favorite waterfalls to visit, even though it is not all that big of one.
