AOL Community Photo Challenge: Wearing of the Green
AOL Community Photo Challenge - Wearing of the Green {Advanced}
(Deadline: The evening of Friday, March 21st)
They say that on St. Patrick's Day, the whole world is Irish. Well, you don't have to be Irish to find some green in your world. Whether it's a St. Paddy's Day parade, your aunt's green scarf or spring blossoms, shoot something green this week and share it with us.

While this isn't something that was shot recently, or even this year, I think it really applies to the topic for this challenge. After a recent Trek to Linville Falls, I realized just how bare the trees had gotten over the winter. Of course, it has not been warm enough long enough for the green to come back to the gorge, but this is what it looks like dressed in summer's splendor. If you look to the lower right, you will see Linville Falls where I was just at. Yes, there is a lot of hiking involved to get to these vantage points, it is a huge park.
You can view this and other pictures in my Landscapes Room.

I hope the "quiet man" (John Wayne) wouldn't be draggin his dear wife ( Maureen O'Hara) through hills and dales as this haha hiking to these falls look hard and Im sure they are but when you get the shot you want, well it shows in every photo you take. We'll just call you the "satisfied man" lol

Hi Greg, I'm with you on the voting - I rather just participate and not be involved in the voting. At this point I just go with the flow. But, I'd love no voting and just participating and learning from each other.
Anyway for the photo, what a spectacular location! That must be one beautiful hike. Did you get to the waterfalls? Can you get to the waterfalls? One might think the falls looks tiny but when you look at the full picture you know otherwise! Wonderful image - so peaceful, so inviting.
