Recommended Reading
I'm sure that most of you know that a list of recommended reading appears in the galleries of Four Forty-Six Photography on the Links page. However, I have just added another book to that list and thought it might be worth posting the complete list here for reference. I have found each of these books to be very helpful in how I have developed my photographic techniques.
The Art of Outdoor Photography: Techniques for the advanced amateur and professional by Boyd Norton
Complete Photography Manual by Ailsa McWhinnie
The Photography Bible by Daniel Lezano
Succeed in Landscape Photography by Mark Lucock
John Shaw's Landscape Photography by John Shaw
Capturing The Landscape With Your Camera by Patricia Caulfield
National Audubon Society Guide To Landscape Photography by Tim Fitzharris
Wilderness Photography by Boyd Norton
North Carolina Waterfalls: a hiking and photography guide by Kevin Adams
Waterfalls of the Blue Ridge: a hiking guide to the cascades of the Blue Ridge Mountains by Nicole Blouin, Steve Bordonaro, and Marilou Wier Bordonaro
How to Photograph Cars by James Mann
Each of these books comes highly recommended as they are ones that I have used for reference for both my own photography, and for many of the Tips and Tricks that I have done here in Photo Trek. These are not your typical The Joy of Photography type books, and are not the ones that are talked about ad nauseam on all of the photography forums. These books are all wonderful resources primarily aimed at the landscape photographer (except for the last book, of course). However, many of them cover other aspects of photography as well. Regardless of the types of photography you are interested in, these books will have many of the basics covered.
