Feeling Excited
Hearing Breathless by the Corrs
Busy Bee
I ordered some games for my Nintendo DS on Wal-mart.com and had them sent to the store so I didn't have to pay shipping and handling.... and they are here now.. in fact I'm gonna try and get them today.... woo hooo
It seems like we are always really busy at work... either cleaning up because some big whig is coming from coporate or we got the Media trampling all over the place.... and everything has to be squeaky clean and neat (hard to do with people trashing the place as fast as we clean it up)
And we got Inventory coming up... and the 1st ever company picnic for our store is coming up... Mom won't get to go.. she's got classes with VFW (the Womens Auxillary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars). I'm hoping the park it's at is close enough I could ride my bike there....
I just realized that one of my favorite actors had died back in 2003 I think it was... Jonathan Brandis ... best known for Seaquest (TV series), Ladybugs, and Neverending Story II, hung himself in his apartment.... supposedly he had problems with alcohol and was unhappy about how his acting career was going.... He was only 2 years older than I am... He was one of my favorite characters on SeaQuest.... I have the TV series Season 2 on Discs...
I've been working on my Genealogy... on Ancestry.com I found a buncha Documents like a Will from 1800's for one of my ancestors... it's really kewl to see... kinda hard to decipher some of it though...

Feeling Thoughtful
Hearing Bitter Sweet Symphony by the Verve
Safety Issues
We have been having a few Safety Issues with our Palettes and trucks that are coming in to receiving. One issue is the palettes are too tall and too heavy... We had one of our 3rd shifters get hurt because a box from the top of a palette fell on her head... Not sure how she's doing but she's okay enough to be at home...
Last Night at work we got a Grocery truck that came in with a Palette that had fallen over another palette... It seems that the palette in front was a small, short palette of Diapers... the one behind was taller with heavy stuff on it like bottled water packs. The shrink-wrap came apart and everything toppled over the short palette... when we went to move the palette in front a bunch of boxes fell off on to the truck floor.... so we ended up with Olive Oil all over the truck floor... that was a pain to clean up as it soaked into the wood floor...

As you can see above, the boxes have spilled all over the place behind the palette of Bottled water. We now have to take pictures of this stuff for documentation.. And our Supervisors have to report this stuff to managers and call the warehouses to complain about it as it's a Safety Hazard for us workers... we are always getting huge palettes of freezer foods that are tilting... We may now have to downstack bad palettes so we aren't getting hurt or running a risk of getting hurt if it happens to fall... especially when we have to take the freezer palettes out on the sales floor to get to the Freezer that we store the palettes in.... So we run the risk of it falling on a customer also....
Oh other news at "Wallie World"... The Winning Asst. Manager of our dress up contest will be wearing a french maid costume.... who knows what our Co-Manager will end up dressed as.... They won't be dressing up untill the day after the Asst. Manager comes back from her lil vacation....
Today is one of my days off... I was soooo looking forward to it.. I was soooooooo tired.... I ended up sleeping till about 3 or 4pm... Think it was about a 12 hour sleep.... my usual... feeling better just sore and drained a bit.... I'll be more awake by time mom gets home from work tonight LOL...
Tomorrow we will be in town bowling with Grandma... she's like 82 and on the Senior Bowling League.. though the league hasn't started up again for the year.. but the bowling alley has $1 games all summer so we get to bowl with Grandma and some of her friends from the league... it's fun even if they beat out pants off LOL... but hey I did have a good day once... I had a 142 game.. my highest ever... I'm usually having games between 50 and 70... sometimes I get up to some where in the 90's. I'm getting better at controlling the balls but I can't seem to use anything higher than an 8 lb ball...I've tried a 10 lb but I end up hurting my wrist and my balls always go in the gutters... I have muscles but weak wrists.... but I don't care.. I haven't the time or the age for the leagues anyways... Well there are leagues for younger adults but I can't do them cause of work... and Leagues require you to use atleast a 10 lb ball... according to Grandma anyways... I just have fun!!!
Well I'm gonna go play with my Genealogy... I've added a new person to the Family Tree... that's kewl :) I'm trying to get all my notes organized so I can find stuff easier....
Have fun!!

Oh the pain
So I get to work and clock in... First thing we are all sent out to do a cart round up... our night time Cart guy had just got to work st the same time... there was no carts what so ever.... Luckily we had a nice breeze and I had my "Air Conditioned" shirt on LOL.... oh and can't forget the kewl shades....
Looks like the Asst. Manager didn't dress up... they might have postponed it... as the Co-manager wasn't there....
Oh did I mention lately that I work in Candyland... I'm Wal-mart "Wallie Wonka"... yeah yeah I know it's actually supposed to be Willie Wonka.... but hey it's Wal-mart... Wallie World..... LOL I'm the Instock person responsible for stocking all the candy and sometimes the candy at the registers.... though lately I've been only doing Aisle 1 Candy in Grocery.... gotta make sure there's enough Peanut M&M's so the world doesn't have a melt-down or something LOL
Though I gotta do the candy inbetween door greeting, Unloading trucks (all 3 kinds: Grocery, Frozen/dairy, and General Merchandise), gotta seperate the "Break pack" boxes off the GM Trucks, seperate the Red Totes, Get carts, Help with Go-backs, help with carry outs, answer phones in all departments if I'm near by, help customers, seperate a certain Palette that comes in that has Pharmacy, grocery, baby food, register items and candy all mixed together.... Some days I never get to the Candy.. I hate it... 1 or 2 people can't keep Candy fully stocked every day... it's impossible... People buy this stuff like crazy...... especcialy on holidays...
Today was a sorta good day... got 2 carts done myself and helped the New "Candy Lady" (Candy Merchandise Supervisor) with her cart... or was she helping me with mine.. oh well... between the 2 of us we threw 3 carts of frieght onto the floor....
Then half the night was spent pulling palettes and zoing apparel.... I went to my usual zoning area... the Womens Bras, Underwear, socks and nighties... What makes a person have to rip a package of Underwear open?? Can they not read.. do they not know what size undies they wear??? and they can't tear them nicely or even stuff the underwear back in the package.. they just stick it all on top of the pegs.. so eventually it falls to the ground... So when I zone it up I gotta match Undies to packaging and fix it by taping it all back up.... it's time consuming when got a whole armful load of them like that... and then the bras aren't even hung on the pegs right... the whole hanger is hanging there instead of just the Hanger hook.....or bras have fallen and are hanging on other bras... the other thing we gotta look for is if the hangers are going the right way....
The clothing has to hang on the hanger with the opening of the "Hook" looking left... makes it look like a question mark.... but sometimes it is backwards
my feet hurt like crazy.. actually my whole right leg hurts from Hip down.. but I'm having trouble getting my little toes to calm down.. the pain is radiating.. can't stand to have anything touch it when hurts...Doc says I'm getting the opposite of a bunion... who knows....
Just one more day then sleep...... yeaaaaaaaaa

Hearing "We Belong" by Pat Benatar
Red, White, & Blue

Hey ya'll out there.... it's July 4th .. Independence Day.... and Lucky us at Wallie world get to wear our favorite Patriotic shirts.... I procrastinated on getting the shirt I wanted to wear for this year... but found 1 left.. but it was a MEN's LARGE.... I tend to swim a bit in a men's Small.... but I got it (on clearance by the way) and I altered it a bit.... now it doesn't look so big LOL
It's a Navy shirt ( not that I was looking for Navy since I have to wear Navy all the time at work) it has a fighter jet that has the flag painted on it in the foreground with "Cloudy" USA.... in the background are 5 jets going across the sky in a straight line formation with smoke behind them.... the shirt says "Freedom Flyers".. it's a really kewl shirt... and now it's even better
Let's see I slit the sides and sewed them back together so I had "pockets" for string to go down to gather the sides... and gathered it in a similar way at shoulders.... Slit the sleeves in strips kina but it's gathered at bottom so strips pouf out a bit... It's my "Air conditioning" for work LOL oh and I took out the neck... just zigzaged it... I put metallic red, silver, and blue beads on the ribbons that I used for the gathering....
We had a contest at Work... all the proceeds went to the Children's Miracle Work Group.... Anways.. they put Jars in an Office with pictures and names of all the Managment... Then everyone put money in the jar of that Managment person they wanted to see dress up for a day.... The one who won is my Asst. Manager... She's okay... but sometimes she comes across a bit rude or short with you for no apparent reason that you can come up with....
all week we got teh chance to give suggestions for what she should dress up as.... And we found out the Co-manager of the store is also gonna dress up... he'll go along with whatever she's dressing up so they sorta match.... Hopefully she's still there at work when I get there...
Oh yeah they changed my Crew's hours.. we now go in a half hour later and get off half hour later than we use to....oh well it helps that it's close to my Mom's hours...
They have us "Zoning" up the store... meaning we have to straighten up the stuff... clean out the stuff that doesn't belong and put it where it does... collect all the wrapings from stolen items and turn them in... make it look nice and neat for the next day... of coarse they are expecting it to all get done with a skeleton crew in a few hours.... this store is huge....
And I know everyone has done it.... pick something up to buy but later change your mind and don't wanna walk all the way back to put it up... so you just leave it where ever you happen to be... some people put it in a "plain as day" place... others try to hide it... or think they are hiding it but it's still in plain side... like hiding a candle in a glass candle holder under a clothing rack in the middle of the women's clothing.... the clothing was shorts... so they didn't even hide it... the stuff we find shoved in weird places is kinda funny but frustrating... sometimes we end up losing money because people leave freezer or frig things other places in the store... since we don't know how long it has been there we have to "Claims" it out...
Well gotta go.. almost time to go to work...

Feeling Exhausted
Hearing "Don't you want me" .. The Human League
NASCAR Baby!
Wow... Always wondered how they got cars inside the stores.... now I know... they drive them right in the front door LOL....
We had a NASCAR car come and visit our store... It was Bobby Labonte's Cherrio's Car.... Of coarse Bobby couldn't come but we had his "Back Up" Driver there to sign autographs of those who wanted his.... and they gave out bookmarks and kewl embroidered patches.... and of coarse I snagged one LOL....
Snagged a few pictures of the car also while it was just sitting there all pretty and yellow...

Supposedly the people who represented the car and driver.. etc were pleased with the reception we gave them when they came... unlike another local Wal-mart that hardly gave them much of a Welcome....
oh and I'm seeing red... literally when I look in the Mirror... I changed my hair color LOL... I went a weird red color called "Disco Inferino" LOL (however it's spelled)
And I've been on a Movie Binge.... We have a "Red Box" machine thingie near the front door at work... it's a rent a movie thing... for $1 a night you can rent a movie... (just gotta have it back by 7 or 9pm) so we have gotten a few movies that we wanted to see to see if they were worth buying....
So far we have seen "Spiderwick" (buying it), "Bucketlist" good but don't think I'll buy it because of the subject matter... it's good to see 1 or 2 times.., "I Am Legend" good but also one that I don't think I'll buy... "P.S. I Love You" it was good... an emotional roller coaster but I something need movies like that... I think we will end up buying it to add to our Romantic movie collection... "Tara Road" was interesting but not one I'll buy... too much Drama and emotionally weather for more than 1 viewing... "Transformers" I gotta get it... it's really cute.... and I remember watching the cartoon as a child... there were probably a few other movies but can't remember them off hand....
I did buy a few good movies... "The Lost Boys" kewl vampire movie with a 80's feel... "I buried my Heart at Wounded Knee" haven't watched this yet.. waiting for a day off when I'm not going anywhere.... "The Parent Trap" the Lindsay Lohan version... I'll get the older version soon... "National Treasure 2", "Unaccompanied Minors" cute movie, "Fool's Gold", "Batman Begins", and "Jumper" all kewl movies....

Dear Abby
I found this article in the Albuquerque Journal from 1966... I was looking at Old Newspapers online on Ancestry.com for Genealogy info on my Family Tree...

I thought it funny as I was looking up things on my own "Family Tree"... As it is I've found out one of my Distant Cousins robbed a Bank in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1965. He was arrested about 30 some minutes afterwards as the Teller recognized his voice... He stole like $20, 430 give or take some...
And I found my Father in the November 25, 1963 Edition of Sports Illustrated... "John, 18, of San Diego , the North American singles roller skating champion, won the men's singles title at the World Invitational Championships in Las Vegas . He defeated Karlheinz Losch of West Germany , who had won the world title five years in a row."
Mom says that Grandmother wouldn't let him go the next year to defend his crown because it was in another Country... She didn't like the Politics and didn't want him involved in them either... but she was the typical "Stage Mom" while he was skating... Telling him how to do it even though she couldn't herself....
I have copies of Articles that my Grandma saved from when my Grandpa worked for NASA thru the Army Air Force. He was part of the Inspection Crew, one of the leaders sometimes. He also got to work at some Missile Silos... He got to inspect all the Rockets before they took off... and he inspected them when they came back... He's got a buncha Memorabilia from his NASA years... Grandma even has alot of his Job Evaluation Sheets... They all thought Grandpa was great... He could fix things and was always able to make something work even if he had to jerry rigg it somehow... he was good at thinking outside the box...
It's interesting the things I have found on my Grandpa's Family (Mom's Daddy). His family is the one I have the most info on now... And I'm still adding to it.. I wanna see how many family Branches I can connect to the Tree... Got Quite a few already... but I'm looking for more info on these people.. So it kinda tells a more complete story of their lives... especially since most of them can't anymore... alot of them are all gone...

Mini Vacation
Today was the Upper Rogue Artist Club Paint-out.... We went to one of the local parks along the River... Basically we come out with Picnics and art supplies and paint or whatever medium used whatever we see while there....
One lady was working with Oils... painting the greenish water flowing by.... One guy was playing with Pastels (chalky like stuff) and using his creative licensing LOL... The club president has a traveling journal that he does really quick but kewl looking watercolor paintings in... then he writes alil bit in it... says he has like 3 or 4 journals like that that are completely full.... I took alot of pictures... We had a family of geese there for awhile...

Well after the Mini Vacation at the Park (and Mom getting a bit sunburned) I had to go to work... I was hoping to work on Candy... that's what I mainly stock right now... but got stuck empting out the Rolling Racks so the 3 girls processing clothes would have someplace to hang the clothing...
These Rolling Racks are way taller than I am... I gotta stand on tipytoe to reach the bar... I was trying to get the stuff in the overstock bins for apparel.. but was running outta time and room... so I ended up trying to condense the clothing down on the racks... we have hooks that have webbed loops on them.. we can hang clothing and keep hooking it down making a kinda chain of sorta of clothing.... makes for getting more clothing on a bar .... I got 4 or 5 bars cleaned off by condensing down so the girls could get a buncha pallettes of clothing hung up for the Merchendise supervisors to put up on the floor... think they went thru about 8 pallettes and 6 or 7 carts of clothing boxes...
Basically Processing entails opening the boxes of hangin clothing.. pulling it out.. pulling off any plastic... then we are supposed to scan the price tags and make sure the prices match the tags... Mark downs and clearance prices are fixed with stickers... and yeah we open new boxes and they are already marked down...LOL
Before our Dinner/Lunch break I believe it was... we had acrisis.... our refrigeration went out on 2 Meat walls... we had to pull all the fresh cuts of meat and all the lunch meat/bacons, and hot dogs.... and that also included most of our cheeses in blocks adn bags... we used Shopping carts and I think we ended up with like 27 carts filled to rims with stuff... and sadly it had to be claims out and destroyed (thrown away) that's Thousands of Dollars of meats and cheeses we just lost :(
After Dinner/Lunch we kinda just ended up doing our own things... our supervisor left early I believe... dunno why... whether wasn't feeling good or was over his hours somehow... or something came up.. oh well...
it was okay though.. I cleaned up... and then I went to the fitting room and watched the fitting rooms and the phones so my Mom, who works there, could go to her 15 minute break... she was the only one there for the whole Apparel Department.. Think even the Shoe Lady had went home by then... I addded a few candy boxes and then helped my Mom do a display of clearance scarves, hats, and belts for the rest of the night...
I'm soooo sore from lifting heavy clothes up adn down fromt eh bars.. and neck hurts from having to look up to see if I"m reaching the bar with the hangers or hooks... and slinging meat didn't help LOL....
crazy day today!!!

Pinned!!
I guess I missed all the fun at work .. LOL...
Supposedly a Challenge was given to 2nd and 3rd shift Instock.. 2nd shift was to bring out the Grocery palettes and down stack them to the correct aisle... then the 3rd shift would go aisle by aisle and stock the stuff we down stacked to the middle of the aisles close to where the stuff goes on the shelves... as they did that the Palettes were taken back to the back so 3rd shift had no palettes to put stuff on... they were given no choice but to put any Over stock in the Grocery Bin (the holding shelves back in the back where overstock is kept)
So at today's Meeting our Store Manager "T" asked who was there last night.. of coarse I had that night off LOL... those who were there and helped downstack got "Team Player" pins.... At Wal-mart Pins are kewl ... alot of people have them... Most are bought but we sometimes get them from the Store Manager for some reason.. like they did today...
Anyways later on when we got back to the truck we were finishing up after the meeting one of my fellow Instock peoples (the one me and Mom call "Giggles" cause he's always laughing) came up to me and handed me his "Team Player" pin... said he didn't want it... That I'm always doing the Break Packs and such... first thing to come to mind... "awwwww...." and of coarse I thanked him.... I waited awhile before I attached it to my badge as I didn't want ms. Temper tandrum to pitch a fit over it....
::rolls eyes:: oh yeah... eggggg Ms. Temper Tandrum was driving me crazy today... usually I let things just roll off me... that old saying.."in one ear out the other".. Well sometimes I just can't stand it and I end up talking back to her or make comments about her comments which makes her even grumpier.... she can't stand it...I've noticed that when comments are made about the ISS group as a Whole I seem to not be grouped in with them... as when I make a comment I'm told either she wasn't talking TO me or ABOUT me... well 1) she wasn't naming names... and 2) she was complaining about the ISS group (oh yeah by the way she's on the ISS team for 2nd shift also)... And she had her bopsie twin there.... The "Twin" (personaily wise they are kinda alike) had been away for a week on vacation... boy was it sorta quiet at work... anyways they were back there raising cane like always...
They wouldn't leave the Freezer King alone... poor freezer King found a slick spot in freezer and promptly fell down... ended up hitting his shoulder, neck and head on the way down... after that he's been on light duty for several weeks... mostly answering phones or greeting at the doors... today he was back to being able to lift anything... no weight restrictions but he can't pull any palettes yet... everyone watches him like a hawk.. some like to rub it in his face....and a few are counting down the day he can pull palettes... they wanna see him pull a zillion palettes.. ::rolls eyes:: geez nice bunch I work with huh?? Mostly it's "Grumpy" who is counting down the days... figures Freezer King is milking it for all it's worth... they grumble about him and his girlfriend (who also works at Wallie World as a cashier).. that they live inside of each others pockets and can't understand how they can do it.. shouldn't they need their space and such... like it's any of their business... and of coarse then get frustrated cause the freezer King is always with his "Beauty"... kinda sounds like the evil green monster to me....
Today they were relentlous in badgering the freezer King.... we were unloading a truck... he was responsible for any boxes going to the clothing departments, Infant, shoes, and Electronics... somehow he ended up with Pets and Gardening also... while all the "Twin" did was food... well even with his arms full of boxes a few might get towards the end of the belt and they're hollering "clothes, clothes, clothes" or "infants, infants, infants"... geez poor guy was scrabling around trying to keep up with the demands of the truck and their screaming at him when he misses a box... poor things we must not have given them enough boxes to keep them busy enough that they wouldn't have to worry about what others are doing or not doing...
Of coarse being me.. when my tolerance reaches boiling point I tend to say something... which in turn gets Ms. Temper Tandrum biting my head off... basically cause I'm sticking my nose where it's not wanted.... but hey it's a free country.. I have a right to voice whatever same as she is... I can be just as snippy as she can... I don't like people ganging up on others.. and I get tired of her snide remarks about others sometimes... like she's Ms. Regal Thing... ruling the ISS roost or something...
There are other people on the ISS team besides her.... other people who don't have to complain or be Witchy with a Capital B to get their work done... Some people respect others as they wanna be respected.... and sorry she hasn't shown me she wants to be respected....

Honor & Remember
It's Memorial Weekend here... And I sat Watching the Memorial Day Weekend Concert they had on the Green Lawn in front of the Capitol in Washington...
They told stories of Heroes Honored and Lost. They had guest speakers who were there... They talked about the different wars... the different war Monuments.... I knew about the Vietnam Memorial Wall and the newly built World War II Memorial... but I guess I never really knew about the Korean War one...

The Many People from My Family and Those friends who served in the Military Forces... whether in a war or not... they were still there to protect if need be...
In doing Genealogy... I've come across many WWI and WWII draft cards for people in my family tree... I found one who was actually MIA during the Korean War who ended up with a buncha medals and awards for his service.
I have 2 friends (Twin Guys) "J" and "K" who are or were in the Air Force.
I met a guy from where I'm living now in Oregon who just got back from a tour in Afghanistan with the National Guard.
My Cousin Alex is in the Military. Last I heard he was back from a tour or 2 in Afghanistan or Iraq.. He was going back in for the Special Forces.
My Mom's first husband was also in the Marines. He didn't go to Vietnam though... a buddy of his took his place as he was newly married with a baby.
My Father was in the Marines... He went over during Vietnam.
My Mom's 3rd Husband was in the Navy. He was stationed in Guam for awhile...
My Brother was in the Marines during Desert Storm... Though they had him stationed in Japan... but hey it's where they sent the broken down Tanks to be fixed (which my brother helped do)....
My Uncle was in the Navy. He was stationed in Thailand at one time.
My Grandpa was in the Army Air Force (before it sectioned off into the Army and Air Force)... He was in Saipan during WWII.
My Grandpa's brothers were all in the Military also... one in the Navy, one in the Coast Guard, and one in Army.....
Even had several ancestors in the Civil War...
And Luckily.. at least with the Immediate Family... all of them came home safe and sound to grow older with their spouses and families....
I think I have just about every Military Branch covered with my family from My Grandpa down to my Brother and Cousin... So when they ask for veterans or families to stand during the Orchestras or bands playing of the Military Medley when that certain Branch's song is played... We can usually stand for all of them....
I say a prayer for all those who never made it home and for those families who will miss them all.... And for those who were wounded and have struggled or are struggling with new challenges... It's about all I can think to do....

Feeling Quiet
Hearing America by Josh Groban
Chaos
agg.. It's been warmer here and everyone goes crazy...
We had oneAsst. Manager who went crazy ordering Barbeques... only problem is he ordered a ton of the higher end ones... He was sure that they'd all be gone over the weekend... sorry bud.. we still got a few palletes in the back taking up our work space...
Then the same Asst. Manager ordered too much Potting Soil... The store co-manager figures the asst. manager didn't realize how the potting soil comes when ordering it and ended up with Palettes instead of just a few bags of the soil... who knows....
We have been soooo busy.. as fast as we get the Pool toys and swimming stuff up they are taking it down to buy....
Oh and I don't have a Candy Supervisor anymore... She moved over to Housewares... And I don't wanna be the Merchendise Supervisor for Impulse and Candy.... I'll just stock it like I always do... Hopefully we get someone soon though.. I need help
I've been so tired I've been coming home and reading a few pages then going to sleep... haven't really been on teh computer too much.... probably why this is my first journal entry in awhile... sorry...
oh yeah I broke one of my teeth too... one of my eye teeth had a cavity but I haven't been able to get to the Dentist... I bit down on something and it broke it to the Gum line... didn't hurt or anything luckily... just feels funny... I got a whole mouth of bad teeth... I have my whole life... it's not really gona get any better... will probably end up with dentures or implants or something like that eventually.... oh well...
Well I gotta go eat... and get ready for work... just today and tomorrow and I get 2 days off... yeaaaaaaa.....
