Finally..Thank God, Ginger Now Has Cable

Preview

Visiting my husband's cousins Ginger and Donald in Vegas last week, we slept in a spare room that houses their computer. I was waiting for two very important emails, I sign on. THANK GOD I wasn't planning to do any work because she was still on dial up!!!!! The computer took 15 minutes to sign on, a couple minutes to open ONE email, forget opening embedded photos or attachments, I never would have left the room.

Their boys have been after them for the longest time to get with times and upgrade to DSL or cable. Sara their 6 year old granddaughter even commented how slow their computer is.  Well all Bob had to do was suggest it was time to bite the bullet and UPGRADE.  Today was the big day, they finally upgraded.  Their cable is the fastest thing moving in their house, both is retired.  BTW she loves cable hook now,
duh.

The photo of Ginger and her dog is excellent.  The computer must be slow also.  I have dial-up but with a new computer and the wait is not bad unless I am downloading alot.  Anyway, the point is made that broadband is the way of the future.     mark

Some folks pride themselves on being behind the times. I have one friend who won't have a computer, or even an answering machine on his telephone. He just thinks it is all too "fancy." Never mind what he is missing, it drives his friends crazy trying to get a message through to him.

Dial up is so slow they may not have spent much time on the computer but I would bet they will with the fast internet. Helen

It is truly amazing how crippled we feel when we only have dial up. I lived in a rural section of Pa. (affluent, but rural, nonetheless) and we were the last to get DSL hook-up. I finally got it, (and lord knows I needed it selling real estate!) and then we moved to Florida and I was back to dial up again! Thankfully, I have DSL again, but it is rather sobering how dependent we are upon that technology.
