Feeling Hopeful
Hearing John Lennon's "Imagine"

I started out....Innocent

Back in July of this past year I posted a journal entry that cost me a few readers for the graphic nature of some of the content.....

The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?"  ~Jeremy Bentham

I still stand by my words and my dedication to speak out for those who can't be heard....The entry in question was of course about dog fighting and Michael Vick, aptly named "This is where "I" stand on this issue:" . Feel free to reacquaint yourselves with my view at that time. I've always believed you should stand up for what you believe, even if it means standing alone. Dog fighting of course is only one inherent example of animal cruelty.

I've always supported no kill shelters with the belief that every animal deserves a chance. I will never believe in an evil , ugly, demented animals actions being the responsibility of the animal itself. Almost always, in the scheme of that animals life there is a human who forced the damning personality. Against all odds no matter what we do to these beautiful four legged blessings, they still forgive and can more often than not unlearn bad behavior with grace, patience and love.

I came across another journal Frequently Feline to find the story your about to see. In her own words she describes her journal: This blog is designed to excite, delight and stimulate all animal lovers and a place to join a community of like minded people. Her journal touches on topics that appeal to those of us who share her passion for animals, not just feline. I hope you check her out; I promise you won't be disappointed....Back to the story at hand, it was there in her pages I discovered what happened to Michael Vick's dogs after they were seized.

It led me to check out the people from Bad Rap who were responsible for the following video I've posted (another journal for those animal lovers among us to check out). I'm delighted and pleased to say you will enjoy watching this one, unlike the telling of the original story. It proves beyond a doubt that an animal, even a pit bull is innocent. The fact they were able to save and re-home all of the dogs seized from Vick's property but one, shows the power of love, compassion, beauty that is found within each of these dogs. Without further ado, I invite you to watch the video...knowing the story I guarantee a few of you will wield as I did, tears of joy. It's they, who teach us to live....No one will ever convince me otherwise. Prepare yourself for faith and a smile to make your day:

Playing catch up here! All dogs deserve a happy healthy, life as other animals. They are only as good as their owners. Being a Dog lover all my life, my heart crys, when I see how some dogs are treated. Britains mostly are a nation of dog lovers. Now when I go to Spain that's a different matter. I am appaled at how dogs are treated.

Considering all the horrible things I heard about pit bulls and dogs trained for fighting and their inability to fit in again, this is good to see. Another much aligned dog is a rott. My inlaws have one. If they ever decide they had to get rid of it, I wouldn't think about turning them down if offered. The dog is obviously as good as the people who care for it.

I agree completely ! Michael Vick is paying the price and his dogs are being cared for and adopted. Every animal deserves a chance !

That was beautiful and amazing!  Thank you for sharing that.  I'm so glad that most of those dogs were able to be helped.  I still can't imagine that you lost readers from your entry last year.

My husbands aunt and uncle had a pit mix, she was so sweet. Her name was Lucy. She was the best dog, so so loving. I really think a lot of it has to do with what the puppy grows up around, just like anything, it is a product of its environment.
