Feeling Mischievous
Hearing Elton John "Circle of Life"

Let Your Wild Child Out!

This month Judith's Arty Essay Contest is about my favorite subject "Animals".  In her own words she describes the Essay Topic :
If you could be
any animal,
which one
would you be...
and why?
You can choose any animal from earth, sea or sky. You can imagine what their life might be like or research the daylights out of them. Be creative and think outside the box, and let that wild child that resides within you out for some play. Any animal... any animal at all! Just imagine.......
Doesn't that sound intriguing? Most of us at one time or another as kids, even as adults have imagined what type of animal we would be. Now here is your chance to put your fantasy into words and let your imagination soar. You have until Midnight of May 31st to submit your entry. Most of us have joined together with friends to write about a chosen topic throughout J-land, so why not give this one a shot and see what comes to mind.
SoI'm challenging all my readers and friends alike to give this some thought and as Judith said let the wild child in you out. I will be submitting my own entry sometime before the deadline. Even if you don't think you have a chance to win, I'm inviting you to step outside your box and have som fun with the subject matter. For those of you that are interested simply click on the link for "Judith Heartsongs May Artsy Essay Contest" , for the rules and how to submit your entry. If for whatever reason's your having trouble linking or submitting an entry, feel free to email me or get in touch with Judith herself on how to do so.
Of course the Native in me is loving this months topic. I've long believed we each have our own animal spirit we connect with on some level. Why not try to connect with yours or an animal you may of always been inspired by? Hope to see you over at Judiths. We only have a week left, so get inspired let your wild child out to play and lets show Judith the spirit of our appreciation for giving us a chance to participate in this venture month after month. Catch you on the "Wild Side" ! <Click to get started with some inspiration....

Woo, fun!!  I am too late for this essay but I added the blog to my favorite places so I can go back and read what essays are submitted.  P.S.  between you and me, I think you'll win.

    Hugs, Kathy

I always envision myself as some sort of animal ~ I don't think I would be good at putting the thoughts to words though.  I will be interested to read the entries.

I've finally entered one!  I had no idea how nervous I would feel knowing all those talented people would be reading something I wrote.  It's a good thing I can't go back and remove it because I'm sure I would've ended up doing so at least a few times.
    Love,
    Jamie

    HI!:)
    What a great idea!
there are two sides of me, so there are two animals I would pick.
    "the dolphin swims
     with pure delight!
    She carries
    our dreams
    she pursues
    our adventures
    and crowns
    the day
    with a towering spray"
    the ocean carries
    the dolphin's quest

    And...
    "the tigress looks
    and hunts to live
    she fends for her brood
    she searches
    for her prey
    perish the day
    that the tiger
    can't play!
    the savanna responds
    to her long quest
