DAILY NEWS: Abortion Part 1- Blowin the Lid!
As a journalist in the making, I must write an article that isn't just based on my beliefs but one that tells the story of many view points. I spent hours getting numbers from research data and wondered what in this data did most people not know. I chose to pick some data that I felt wasn't as common and spent more time on logic. I chose to debate the first trimester more on a religious viewpoint. I chose to debate the second and third trimester with science, knowledge and reasoning. I felt this way, we would hopefully see our inconsistencies and debate abortion from a common ground- logic. Thus the debate continues...
Fears keep us blind
Historically a woman's womb has culturally and socially created many set backs for women all around the world. For hundreds of years a woman was judged and condemned if she couldn't produce a male child. We now know its the male sperm that chooses the sex. Woman have been raped, molested and had no legal grounds for justice. Women are either sex symbols or mothers and not much in between. Even today women continue to break stereotypes in hopes of being considered of more. As I have written before, self-serving laws are rooted in different motivations. The history of the womb carries wounds, where now many are blind to the selection process our rights. Roe vs. Wade offered some faulty reasoning of what a woman's rights are. The Womb Dogma Slogan.
"Its a Woman's Body, so its Her Choice."
We have confused ownership with rights. Ownership and freedom are two completely different issues. To own something means you have the legal right to the possession of a thing, or in this debate your body. To possess and own your body is not the same as to possess an own a thing. If you buy a car and some parts are unsafe, you can sue the company but you cant sue the object. Sounding elementary here but a point is being made. The thing can make no choices of its own. There is no legal law that says you can sue a dryer, washer, car, etc,lol. Your body isn't an object, although some think of it that way. People that think of the body as an object, aren't connected to humanness. They can easily murder, rape and violate any body. Do you think I am off the subject? I am completely on the subject. Continue on.
Ownership of you body requires your ability to make choices because you have possession. Yet, there isn't always freedom of choices. For example, when a teenager is intimate with an adult, we conclude that they don’t have the wisdom to make a sound choice. Their sexual choices don't belong to them until they are 18. Our laws support this. One of the reasons is teenagers can be manipulated by adults to do something they really don't want to do. We understand this butthen throw in a twist. A teenager can choose to have an abortion, even though they become a victim if they choose to have a serious relationship with an adult. Interesting? Ownership of your body is the ability to make choices in your maturity, otherwise there are consequences by the law.
Does ownership of you body mean choice? Do you own your arm? Do you own your leg? Can you hurt another person with YOUR arm or YOUR leg? We can choose to use our bodies as we choose but there is seriously ramifications if you use your body and hurt another human being. Can you slap someone with the ownership of your hand? Well, yes you have that choice theoretically but morally and ethically the law offers consequences. What are those consequences? -You don't have the right.
We have laws that say you cant murder, rape or molest. Yet in every horrible violation against another its by YOU choosing to use YOUR body to hurt another. A woman doesn't have the right to choose to kill a life because its her body. Your body doesn't belong to you. If it did, you could rape, molest and murder whomever you choose because its your freedom of choices, and its your freedom of rights of your limbs. The law limits your freedom of choices, your possession of your arm, your leg, and etc. Your womb is not exempt from these principles.
Our bodies don't own freedom of all choices and Thank Goodness! The infamous statement used by pro-choice supporters is its a woman's body so she has this choice. This is a fallacy. No person on the planet has complete freedom to all rights of his or her body. This truth is for all women, for all men and for all children. Your body is not yours. Women aren't in a special class of exceptions. Your womb is in your body. Your womb is yours but with conditions. Just as you do with any other limbs on your body. Its time to change that dialogue because unfairness is embedded in womb dogma.
I Propose A New Slogan-
"When a woman becomes pregnant it is no longer just her body. Just as nine months discovers evolving time, the womb carries another."

you're words are more damaging and who owns them pray tell, should you be censored if we don't agree with you? Your world is upside down, but some of us choose to walk on our two feet. You'd be better off concentrating on the external killing that takes place through self righteous motives .

In response to your comment, yes I beleive the state should have control over your body. 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want someone disciplined by teh state if they murder my child with their hands, or sexually abuse or rape another human being. The government has rights to your body because consequences are legally established by YOU. There is no exceptions. The womb carries life. To argue its your body, reveals a deep ignorance on how little rights you have with any other limb on YOUR body, when you choose to hurt another. So, yes, The government owns YOUR right to not hurt another person, via in the womb or out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, so you believe the State owns people's bodies. Good. Since you're obviously no good for breeding stock, then I'm sure you'll agree that cutting off your balls ASAP is Constitutionally sound. It's not your body so lay 'em out, little boy.

Pure, undiluted hatred is all that is deserved by the traitors (and their supporters) who are squatting in our White House and ruining our country....... not to mention committing war crimes and crimes against humanity and crimes against Americans.
They are stealing our Treasury, slaughtering innocent civilians in Iraq and elsewhere, using Internationally banned Napalm on those Iraqis (including women and children), are lying to us every single day, are using the US Constitution for toilet paper and are spying on us.
They are SCUM. They are TURDS. They are the SLIMY CRAP you find UNDER the barrel. There aren't even words to describe these evil, FASCIST murderers and thieves.
The only solution is Impeachment and trials for war crimes.
What is self destructive, what is truly destroying our country, is the few people who still support the evil Bush regime.
Hitler didn't have the support of the majority and neither did/does the Bush regime. But he had the support of the media of the day and of the churches (Hitler said he was "doing the Lord's work," and all the church people agreed). And he had the support of the minority who were such bigots and hate mongers they would go and die so an innocent country (Poland) could be invaded and its innocent civilians could be slaughtered. Sound familiar?
Support the Bush regime? Congrats. You are no different from a Hitler supporter in 1939.

psychofun--the reasons you listed dont involve hurting another person. Getting Tattos isnt the same as using your body to slap someone. YOu can hurt your husband emotionally by getting your tubes tied but my arguments were based on hurting someone else physically and doing it with the ownership of your limbs analogy.

Numan is a fictional story that takes place 60 years from now. It shows a USA that allows abortion to be performed on, not only embryos, but children up to the age of 12 so that children are aborted too. The prochoice movement gets worse as one group after another comes under their control. Eventually African Americans are enslaved under the guise that they were born of those who, at one time in their history, were "non persons."
