America was founded on the constitution and under God, yet the word Patriotism is a divisive force against our very foundation.

Fact- The ABC's in patriotism really means for you to support the leader of your country. If you speak against the leadersship your treated like a betrayer as an outcast on a little island called America. Question for you? Were the men patriotic, who fought against slavery during the Civil War? Didn't the leadership and the laws of the land stand FOR slavery then?  If this is true were they patriotic?  Should we define patriotism by our foundation?-Our constitution?-Freedom of speech?

What is democracy?

To be patriotic, shouldn't be based on what opinion you have, but the FREEDOM to express it.  Unfortunately in America  "Freedom of Speech" delivers persecution. Two popular examples were The Dixie Chicks and Michael Moore. They were persecuted by the media, the radio stations and the other so-called Americans.  It was very revolutionary that some radio stations stopped playing the Dixie Chicks music. This revealed that Americans still have much to learn and how little we have grown. The radical truth is anyone persecuting anyone for freedom of voice, isn't an American. I say that by principles, the ones that represent the laws defining Americas birth.

To be speak against our constitution is un-American. To speak against our foundation is un-American. Those who discipline others for having a voice, betray our fore-fathers. They need a history lesson. 

I disagreed with the Dixie Chicks and Michael Moore about the war but I still saw them as Americans, and I still do. Yes, I saw the mistakes in how we approached the war but I was all for the removal of Hussein. Can't we just disagree and honor each others voice? Keepin it real, let me say it this way, "In theory, can't we just disagree and honor each others voice?" Sad.

Opinions for or against our leadership, should have never  defined who an American is. An American is simply an individual representing any race and any politics, who agrees to honor what the United States was founded on. United by state-by-state and united by-American-by-American.

In recent news, students were reprimanded and told to remove the flag from their protests. The teachers thought this would inflame other Americans. If anyone was inflamed, then let it be so. The lesson of the flag is of greater importance. America is a land of immigrants!  It's time that the great Melting Pot stops being a theory and becomes our hearts. We have spent many years talking and now its time represent. Our Flag stands for democracy! Freedom of speech and Freedom of voice is the American Flag. The only people who shouldn't use the flag, are those who are opposed to others doing so.

We need to redefine the word Patriotism, with motives of what we call good.  In a nation that is free, declaring your voice as an American, is a must.  Your loyalty to America is your loyalty to our foundation.

For those of you that say to your brother and sister, "If you don't agree with your President then get out of America, you have simply spoken the same language of dictators!   I ask you then,  if American citizens are persecuted for speaking against our leadership, what do we have to teach the people of Iraq?
